About This Game

A thousand years ago, the Twilight War reached its end.

Three Sages remained before the Scar of the Abyss. With their lives, they forged a seal and drove the demon host back beneath the world.

People believed the war was over.

Hymns rose in praise of the angels, while those who died before the seal were reduced to a few lines in the margins of history.

A thousand years have passed.

The Sages' Seal is beginning to break.

That war never truly ended.

It only slept until today.

This time, the world has no new Hero waiting to save it.

It has only you.

Life as an Ordinary Mortal

You enter this world as a mortal of flesh and blood. Every word must be spoken by you, every action taken by your own hand. If you want food on the table, you'll have to find work. If you want to learn magic or master the sword, you'll need to seek out experienced mentors and hone your skills through real combat. Time passes, every copper coin you earn is accounted for, and every possession you lose is truly gone.

A Vast and Incredibly Complex World

Spanning tens of millions of years since creation, this world's history is shaped by the eternal struggle between angels and demons. Across the continent of Pangunia, the Radiant Empire, the Warrior Kingdom, and the Alliance of Free City-States hold their respective territories, while dozens of races, including dwarves, elves, beastfolk, and dragons, inhabit its lands.

Church and crown struggle for power behind closed doors. The Council of Six controls maritime trade and war loans, while mining guilds, arcane academies, smuggling networks, and underground cults weave tangled webs of influence. From angels and demon lords who wield the laws of existence to ambitious rulers and military commanders with agendas of their own, over 60 factions and hundreds of characters are bound together by a dense web of competing interests.

From a single fly to a longsword, from a head of cabbage to a full set of plate armor, every item you can obtain has its own dedicated icon. Everyone you meet, young or old, across every walk of life, is brought to life with a distinct character portrait. Every location you visit is built from dozens of detailed backgrounds, spanning every district and alleyway.

The World Moves On Without You

You have your own life to live, and so does everyone else. The world doesn't stand still when you're away. Factions forge alliances for mutual gain, wage wars, and pursue their own ambitions. Their struggles ripple through the world, eventually reaching into your everyday life.

A war you have nothing to do with might send food prices soaring and leave blacksmiths without iron. A political purge might see familiar streets flying a different banner overnight.

Distant conflicts can change the world around you at any moment. You can ignore them and live with the consequences, or step in and try to change the course of events while there's still time.

The World Remembers Everything

Who owes whom money, who died in which year, who made a promise and whether they kept it. Even something as small as exchanging an item with a companion or picking up a piece of trash becomes part of the world's lasting history.

No matter how long you've been playing, you can ask your companions what they're carrying, where their belongings came from, and what you've been through together. They'll remember it all.

Everything you do leaves a lasting mark on the world. The shops you open, the homes you buy, and the land you cultivate won't simply disappear when you walk away. They'll still be there. You can even entrust your companions with running your businesses and managing your property. These ventures will continue to grow, forming new connections with the people and communities around them.

Your Companions Have Lives of Their Own

Nobody walks around with a name floating above their head, and you can't simply open a menu to read someone's life story.

If you want to know someone, you'll have to approach them, talk to them, and ask questions. If you want to grow closer, you'll need to treat them well, help them through difficult times, and invite them to share your journey.

Your companions have jobs, spend their own money, carry their own belongings, know other people, and deal with troubles that have nothing to do with you.

They can grow to love you, but they can also turn you down. And if you hurt them deeply enough, they may leave you for good.

Your Model, Your Save Data

EtelGarde comes with a built-in local AI model, so you can start playing right away. You can also connect to supported cloud-based models. Your save data stays on your own device.

Death Is Final

Your life moves in only one direction. There's no reloading an old save to turn back time, and no taking back the words you've spoken. You have only one life. When you die, your story ends.

Anyone can die, even mighty angels and demons. And once they're dead, there's no bringing them back.
