About This Game

Three Paths. One Eternity.

Ashram is a classic tab-target MMORPG set in Adhyatma, an original mythic world that has been slowly falling apart ever since the balance of the three cosmic forces was broken a thousand years ago. Pick one of four lineages, step into the world with nothing, and wrest everything you become from the beasts you hunt, the materials you gather and the allies you choose. Old-school tactical combat, progression with weight, and a server where the world is genuinely shared. No pay-to-win.

The Sundering

The cosmos was never created, it was a harmony. Vyāna made things begin, Dhāra made them last, Antā let them go. As long as the three principles sounded together, there was a world.

A thousand years ago, something struck a false note. The principles still operate, but out of sync: forests swallow cities overnight, villages are trapped repeating the same day, and whole landscapes crumble into golden dust as you walk them. Mortals took sides, each convinced their truth is the one that can save everything.

None of the three is entirely right. You will have to choose anyway.

Four lineages, four fantasies

Vajrahn, the Thunderborn. Warriors of the northern peaks. They take the hit and give it back. Resource: Fury.

Sahira, the Veiled. Hunters and smugglers of the southern marshes. They strike first, from where you cannot see them. Resource: Stealth.

Yodha, the Breathed. Martial monks of the plateaus. They heal their own with the same discipline they use to break bones. Resource: Breath.

Elunar, the Crystalborn. Scholars of the eastern towers. Precision, range and elemental damage. Resource: Crystal Charge.

Your lineage is your origin, not your allegiance: any lineage can walk any path.

Hunt, dismantle, craft, survive

Ashram does not hand you power, it hands you a world and the discipline to wrest it from the wild. Fell the Dissonants that infest each region, break their spoils down into materials, and forge bandages, tonics, potions and gear. Then delve a little deeper and do it again. Every piece you wear has a story of how you got it.

Features

Classic tab-target combat. Select your target and chain your rotation. Winning comes from knowing your kit, reading your opponent and picking the right moment, not from impossible reflexes.

Level 1 to 100. A long curve, with attributes you assign yourself and passives that awaken depending on how you assign them.

Your Path is forever. When you come of age you hear one of the three principles and align with it. Dawn, Noon or Dusk: permanent, and written into your body, your aura and your abilities.

Visible armor sets. Tiered sets you actually wear, with dedicated quests per slot and bonuses for equipped pieces.

Guilds that matter. A shared 140-slot vault, forty levels of guild perks, guild missions and ranks with real permissions.

Social life. Party, friends list, direct player-to-player trading, item links in chat and whispers.

Account vault. Four tabs shared across all your characters.

A world that breathes. A real day and night cycle, with creatures that only come out after dark.

Vendors, crafts and reputation. Blacksmiths who charge you differently depending on what you have done for them.

Titles and rankings. What you achieve shows, in game and out of it.

The server rules. The server decides, the client predicts. Netcode and performance obsessed over by someone who plays what he builds.

Handmade

Ashram is built by one person. Every hit, every cooldown, every resource and every price is tuned by hand, not decided by a committee or by a monetization spreadsheet. It is the MMORPG they no longer make: a tab-target MMO where the world costs you something, your guild matters, and people on the server know your name.

The Sundering was the beginning. Your legend, the rest.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Part of Ashram's art is produced with the help of generative AI tools. Specifically: the item and armor-set illustrations you see in your inventory, and the concept images used as visual reference during development, are generated with image models and then cropped, retouched and adjusted by hand until they match the game's style.

Some 3D equipment meshes start from a model generated out of those illustrations. None of them ship as they come: every piece is corrected, decimated, rigged and fitted to the body by hand, one at a time, before it can be worn.

All of this happens during development. Ashram does not generate content with AI while you play: there are no dialogues, characters, texts or images created live, and the game never sends what you type or do in the world to any AI service.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Ashram is a fantasy MMORPG with stylized violence. Combat means facing the Dissonants — creatures and beasts corrupted by the Sundering — as well as other players, using melee weapons, bows and mystical abilities. Hits produce brief spatter and damage numbers on screen, and when you are badly wounded a red tint washes over the edges of the image. Defeated enemies fall and fade away. There is no dismemberment, torture or explicit gore.

Survival and crafting run on hunting beasts and dismantling their spoils: hides, fangs, bones and blood appear as inventory materials, described through text and icons. The butchering itself is never shown on screen.

As for themes, the story revolves around a world coming apart, and deals with death, grief and the loss of memory and identity: people who forget their own name, villages trapped repeating the same day, the dead who do not know they are dead. The tone is melancholic and contemplative, never graphic. The game's cosmology, orders and vows are entirely fictional and do not depict any real religion or spiritual practice.

Ashram contains no nudity or sexual content of any kind, and no depictions of sexual abuse or non-consensual sex, drug or alcohol use, or self-harm.

Finally, this is an online game: you share the world with other people and talk to them in chat, so you may encounter language or behaviour that is not part of the content we created.
