What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Daedalia lives or dies on how eight people behave inside the same maze — who betrays whom, which trap gets funny instead of frustrating, how long a round should really last. That is not something we can settle alone in a test room. We want the balance of the Shades, the traps and the creatures to be shaped by real games, with real players, before we call the game finished.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around 9-12 month — long enough to add the remaining game modes and act on what the first months of play teach us, short enough that the game does not sit in Early Access forever.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version aims to add the other game modes built on the same engine — free-roaming Shades, team play, and ranked by placement — plus more creatures and traps, more variety in the generated labyrinths, and the balance work that only a live player base makes possible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Playable and complete on its core loop: solo, Steam co-op or LAN for up to 8 players, procedural labyrinth, key / Golden Fleece / ichor objective, hidden traps, Shades with possession, the Empusa, three weapons with block and parry, creatures, shop, tutorial and five languages.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price rises modestly at 1.0, and Early Access buyers keep the full game at no extra cost.]”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through the Steam forums and our community channels. Round length, trap lethality and Shade powers are exactly the numbers we expect players to argue about — and those arguments are the point.”

About This Game

You are not alone in this labyrinth. One of you may not be, either.

Daedalia drops up to 8 players into a Greek labyrinth generated fresh for every match, seen in first person. To open the great golden door you need three things: the sanctuary key, the Golden Fleece, and enough ichor. All three are somewhere in the maze. So is everyone else.

The labyrinth is an arena, not a puzzle

There is no single correct route to work out in peace. Hatches open under your feet, wall plates loose volleys of arrows, spiked presses sweep the straight corridors, and a Shade can tip a wall brazier so the lava runs into the passage you were about to take. Half the time the trap that kills you was set off by another player.

Dying does not end your evening

Every player killed becomes a Shade and joins the Shades' hall above the sanctuary — immortal, and very much still playing. Shades send waves of fear that disorient the living, plant pillars of light to guide their side, and possess the creatures of the maze: a skeleton, a spider, the Medusa, even the Minotaur. Build enough fervour and you are reborn among the living. The tension climbs as the living thin out, until the last survivor faces the swarm.

One of you may not be a player

The Empusa, demon of Hecate, walks into the game disguised as an ally and quietly drains the breath of whoever trusts her. Unmasking her before she works through the group is its own game inside the game.

Fight with weapons that behave differently

The sword is fast and precise — one strike, one target. The axe is slow and wide, it reaps but leaves you open. The bow charges and rewards patience. Block halves the damage, parry rewards timing. It works the same against a player as against warrior skeletons, spiders, bats, the hellhound, the Medusa and the Minotaur.

Find your way, or make one

Ariadne's Thread draws a red line on the floor toward the golden door. The Wings of Daedalus double your jump. Sprint runs on stamina. The Altar of Ichor sells arrows, elixirs and blessings to anyone who can pay. And a full minimap keeps the whole thing readable even at its most chaotic.

Play with friends, not with a list of IP addresses

Host through Steam and invite straight from the overlay, or stay on classic LAN. Same game either way, same maze generated for everyone from the same seed, with in-game voice chat.

Features

  • A mutable procedural labyrinth — no two matches alike, no route ever guaranteed safe

  • Death changes your role, not your evening: come back as a Shade and possess the creatures

  • The Empusa — a disguised impostor at the heart of a labyrinth FPS

  • Three weapons with real combat identity (sword / axe / bow), plus block and parry

  • Greek myth made flesh: warrior skeletons, hellhound, Medusa, Minotaur and more

  • Up to 8 players, Steam co-op (invites, no IP swapping) or LAN, with voice chat

  • Full minimap, Ariadne's Thread and the Wings of Daedalus to stay in the fight

  • Five languages: English, French, German, Spanish, Italian
