About This Game

You had a boring job. Then Piper recruited you.

Yvonne runs this company. Your job is to make sure her workers never finish anything.

Something Really Evil Inc. is a real-time roguelike about hacking an open-plan office. Every run starts with access to a new floor, and a new project nearing completion.

The Crew

Get to know your fellow hackers! Hank writes the hacks and hands you the day's options. Gina takes credit for the good ideas, some of it deserved. Piper is Yvonne's personal assistant, which is exactly as useful as it sounds. Fluffypaw tinkers around and helps power you up!

Get to know everyone and utilize each of them to their fullest potential!

Hack the office

Workers generate office points by doing their jobs. Too many points and the project ships and you lose. So you go after the things they use.

Computers, the vending machine, the water cooler, the conference table — each has slots, and you fill those slots with hacks:

• Generators Earns KeyBits that pay for everything else

• Memes pull workers' attention off their screens on a timer, or the second you trigger them

• Shrouds keep security off of you

• Sabotage undoes their work

• And Much More!

Some hacks fire on their own. Others have triggers you fire by hand, on a cooldown, for a KeyBit cost. Some hacks can even be mutated together to combine or create new functionality!

Trinkets

Between days, Fluffypaw offers you passive trinkets. A Stapler adds slots to half the office. Chips make shrouds hit harder in the vending machine. They stack all week, and the run you build around them is rarely the run you planned.

There are two ways to lose

Security can catch you at any time. Keep your footprint low by using shrouds to stay undetected during security scans.
At the end of the day, if the project has been completed, you've also lost, and will have to start fresh on a new floor next week!

Then do it again, but harder

Win a run and you unlock the next Ascension: unique challenges that make it harder and harder to achieve victory. Can you complete them all?

Yvonne is going to be furious. That's the point.
