What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I Have a Shit Problem is built around multiplayer interactions, and the fun of the game depends heavily on how real players behave, communicate, hide, chase, and react to each other.

We plan to use Early Access to bring the core gameplay to players early, gather feedback, and continue refining the balance, pacing, maps, and overall multiplayer experience based on how people actually play.

We believe the game will be more fun if we develop it together with the community rather than trying to predict every aspect of the multiplayer experience on our own.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect I Have a Shit Problem to remain in Early Access for approximately 6–12 months.

The actual duration may change depending on player feedback and how the game develops during Early Access.

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version will contain the core gameplay loop, including the toilet hunt, Hunter and hidden-player mechanics, tracking, and the main scoring and round systems.

During Early Access, we plan to refine the core gameplay based on player feedback and may expand the game with additional maps, environmental elements, gameplay variations, customization options, and other features that help make each match more unpredictable and replayable.

The full version is intended to provide a more polished and complete multiplayer experience, with improvements to balance, pacing, matchmaking, performance, and overall presentation based on what we learn during Early Access.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version contains the core gameplay experience of I Have a Shit Problem.

Players can already experience the main multiplayer loop, including finding the toilet, becoming the Hunter, hiding from other players, tracking players through movement and other clues, revealing hidden players, and completing multiple rounds.

The current version is playable from start to finish as a complete game loop, but the overall amount of content is intentionally limited. During Early Access, our focus will be on refining the gameplay, balancing the different roles, improving the multiplayer experience, and expanding the content based on player feedback.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as we add content, features, and improvements during Early Access.

Players who purchase the game during Early Access will receive the full game as it develops, without needing to purchase it again when the game reaches its full version.

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be an important part of the Early Access development process.

We plan to listen to player feedback through Steam discussions, our community channels, playtests, bug reports, and gameplay feedback. We will pay particular attention to how players experience the core gameplay loop, including balance, pacing, hiding and tracking, match length, and replayability.

We may use community feedback to help prioritize future improvements and decide which ideas are worth exploring. We also want players to be able to share their own ideas, funny moments, and suggestions as the game develops.
