Sugarstar Academy is a story-driven tactical deckbuilder set in a magical academy. Character cards become units on a 5×5 battlefield. Read enemy landing cells, arrange your squad, and use Hero Skills to turn the tide of automatic combat.

Turn threats into opportunities

Enemy landing cells are revealed before combat. Take a key cell, position units to support one another, or hold a card for a better moment. Read the battlefield first, then decide who to deploy this round.

Build a squad, one card at a time

Deploy at most one character card each round. Build your deck around units with different attack ranges and abilities, then plan their positions on the battlefield. Once you confirm, both sides fight automatically in action order. How well your units cover one another depends on the deck and formation you chose.

Turn the tide with Hero Skills

Hero Skills do not use up your deployment for the round. Pick the right target and timing, and combine them with unit abilities to give your squad a chance to counterattack. Who to deploy, who to hold back and when to act are your decisions.

Prepare for the next mission

Between missions, adjust your deck and organize your growing collection. Get to know your academy companions through RPG-style conversations, then face the next challenge with a fresh formation and something to look forward to.
