About This Demo

The Old South is burning, but its legends are not quite (un)dead.

It’s time to get a taste of Guns of Eschaton—a one-of-a-kind first-person soulslike shooter set in an apocalyptic Western designed by the legendary art director Viktor Antonov (Half-Life 2, Dishonored). A land of dust, blood, false saints, broken history, and occult horror, where the road to salvation is paved with spent casings.

You are fragile, outmatched, and surrounded by monsters. But you have a Colt, the instincts of a killer, and the will to survive.

This is not a fast-paced shooter where reflexes alone ensure victory. Every bullet matters. To shoot or not to shoot—that is the question. Every gun has a character. Every monster has a weakness. Forget your old shooter instincts—you’ll need to learn how to shoot all over again.

Study who hunts you. Identify their weaknesses. Choose the right ammunition. Commit to every action with intent. Master calculated parries and dashes, experiment with different weapons and abilities, and use anything you can find to stay alive.

This standalone adventure has been crafted just for the demo, offering a concentrated taste of the world, atmosphere, combat, enemies, weapons, and core systems of Guns of Eschaton.

It is not the campaign’s opening chapter, nor is it a slice of the full Guns of Eschaton experience. The full game will take you much further, from West to East across the burning Old South, with a larger arsenal, deeper buildcrafting and progression, more enemies, factions, locations, occult powers, and mysteries to uncover.

● Weapons with character: The full game features an arsenal of more than 20 weapons inspired by the power, limitations, and brutality of 19th-century firearms.

● Every bullet counts: Choose the right bullet for every monster. Your revolver cylinder can become the timeline of your battle plan.

● Know what hunts you: Study your enemies’ behavior, anatomy, weak points, rituals, and hidden rules. Lore is not just decoration—it is your weapon.

● Build your gunslinger: Shape your own playstyle with abilities, custom bullets, talismans, armor, consumables, and sacramental powers.

● An occult apocalyptic West: Explore a dying America transformed by the Burning into a frontier of ruined settlements, eldritch machines, twisted mythologies, and occult horror.

Die. Learn. Adapt. Try again.

And right now, your experience can help change this world.

Go West, gunslinger.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game is set in an apocalyptic Wild West, depicting features characteristic of that period and genre. Some enemies feature partial nudity; however, this imagery is strictly non-sexual and rooted in historical and cultural context. Players fight corrupted enemies, with gore serving as a narrative element of this devastated world. Players can also consume alcohol and cocaine, reflecting authentic practices at that time (cocaine was commonly used as a cough remedy, for instance) and supporting the game’s historical character archetypes.
