What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“HOLLOWED Co. is built around multiplayer interaction, unpredictability, and replayability. Early Access gives us the opportunity to develop the game alongside an active community and use real player feedback to improve balance, progression, maps, monsters, and the overall gameplay experience.

The core experience is already playable, but we believe community feedback will be especially valuable as we expand and refine the game. We want Early Access to help us understand what creates the most memorable, tense, and fun moments when real groups of players play together.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect HOLLOWED Co. to remain in Early Access for approximately 12–18 months. This estimate may change depending on development progress and community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version of HOLLOWED Co. to expand upon the Early Access experience with additional content, greater variety, and further refinement of existing systems.

Our plans include expanding the selection of maps, monsters, gameplay situations, environmental interactions, and other content while continuing to improve balancing, performance, networking, audio, animations, visual presentation, and overall polish.

We also plan to continue refining existing mechanics based on how players interact with them during Early Access. The exact scope and priorities may evolve as we learn from community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“HOLLOWED Co. is playable from start to finish right now: take the job alone, or online with 2 to 10 players.

What's in the game today:
- 4 locations: a school, an abandoned asylum, an alchemist's house and the company's Head Office, the two newest opening up with the size of your crew
- 6 kinds of creature, and something rarer
- Ghosts hidden among the crew from 4 players, or a crew-only shift for a group of any size
- Shoves, tackles and collisions between coworkers, drinkable relics with side effects, and a building-wide PA system
- A break room between shifts: payslips, a company store, upgrades, and a board that counts the days without an incident
- Power cuts, breakers, alarms and a light switch in every room
- Proximity voice chat

Some parts are still being balanced and polished, and you may run into bugs. We fix what players report as quickly as we can.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We currently plan to offer HOLLOWED Co. at a lower price during Early Access. The price may increase as the game grows and receives additional content, features, and polish on the way toward the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will play an important role throughout Early Access. We plan to listen closely to player feedback, bug reports, balance discussions, suggestions, and general reactions to new and existing content.

Feedback will help us identify which mechanics are working well, where balancing or usability needs improvement, and which areas of the experience deserve additional attention. We also plan to communicate development updates and gather feedback through the Steam Community and our other community channels.

While not every suggestion will necessarily become part of the game, we want player feedback to meaningfully inform our development priorities throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

NOW HIRING. NO EXPERIENCE NECESSARY.

You work for HOLLOWED Co. The job: walk into haunted buildings, find the cursed relics and bring them back before the shift goes wrong. It always goes wrong. The power cuts out, the alarm goes off, and things in the dark take an interest in you.

Every shift pays. Minus deductions. Spend what's left in the break room on a better flashlight, night vision, a tougher body or a full medkit box, then press the button and go again. The board on the wall counts the days without an incident. It rarely gets far.

BRING THE CREW

Two or three of you? Everyone is crew: split up, cover each other, carry the relics home. From four players, the host can deal ghosts into the crew. They look like everyone else, they would rather the relics stayed where they are, and the lights going out may not be an accident.

Help someone escape. Accuse them thirty seconds later. Regret both decisions.

WORKPLACE ACCIDENTS

Shove a coworker. Tackle one. Run into one at full sprint in a dark corridor. The relics can be drunk, and the company would like to remind you that they should not be. There is a PA system in every building, and one microphone. Someone will find it.

OR GO IN ALONE

Take the job by yourself and see how many levels you last before the company has to replace you.
