Scarryland: The Potion Goes Wrong!

Long ago, a king named Chudlingpong ruled over a small island. He named the island after himself, Chudling Land. The king had a strange business. He sold his own pee as a blessing drink called Kepsy, and somehow everyone on the island loved it and drank it every day.

One day a tea seller named Demojee arrived on the island and started selling tea. The islanders tried it for the first time and fell in love with it. Slowly everyone stopped drinking Kepsy and started drinking tea instead. The king began to worry. Nobody was buying his blessing drink anymore. His servants told him a new drink had arrived and the whole island was obsessed with it.

The king called Demojee to the palace. He made him an offer. If the king tried the tea and liked it, Demojee would get permission to sell tea across the island. If he didn't like it, Demojee would have to leave forever. Demojee agreed. The king drank the tea and was amazed by the taste. Instead of just giving permission, he appointed Demojee as his personal tea maker.

Weeks later, a magician who had always dreamed of becoming king approached Demojee, but he never revealed his real plan. He told Demojee he had a magic powder. If Demojee mixed it into the king's tea, the king would become hypnotized and hand over the entire kingdom. Demojee, blinded by greed and his own dream of becoming king, agreed. He mixed the powder into the tea and served it to the king. The king drank it, fell under the spell, and gave away his kingdom on the spot. King Chudlingpong disappeared from the island, as if he had never existed.

What the magician never told Demojee was that this was part of an old rule. Whoever became king through the spell could only rule for sixty nine days. If he failed to pass the crown to someone else before those days ended, he would die.

Demojee became king, but he never planned to give the kingdom back to the magician. Instead, when his time was running out, he handed the crown to a streamer named ScarryMichan. Because island law says the land must take on the name of its ruler, the island was renamed ScarryLand.

The magician was furious. His plan had failed and someone else sat on the throne. In his rage, he cursed the entire island with dark magic.

You are Dimkalu, once a man who sold black colored eggs for a living, now appointed as the island's zoo caretaker by King ScarryMichan himself. Your family is a strange one. You have two grandfathers and a grandmother who rides a motorcycle everywhere she goes. Your first grandfather is the island's garbage collector. Your current grandfather is a scientist who has spent years chasing one dream, turning animals into humans.

He wanted to test his new potion on the zoo animals. You refused to let him and walked away to relax with a cup of Kepsy instead. But he tested it anyway while you were gone. The potion failed. The animals did not turn human. They simply started acting like humans, and in the chaos they broke through the zoo's gates. Almost every animal escaped into the island.

Panicked by what he had done, your grandfather ran from the zoo toward his lab. Right beside the lab sat the island's water supply tank. In his panic he threw out the barrel holding the leftover potion, and it spilled straight into the tank, mixing with the island's water. Everyone who drank that water that night began to change. Instead of animals becoming human, the people of the island started turning into animals.

Your grandfather finally realized the size of the mistake he had made. The island fell into total chaos.

Now he needs your help. He needs the ingredients and the knowledge to craft a cure strong enough to undo what the potion has done. You are the only one who can save ScarryLand from this curse. Explore the island, solve its mysteries, and gather what you need for the cure, all while your skeleton companion Bonky tags along, calling you dad every step of the way.
