What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“OKTORAID is a couch co-op game, and couch co-op is the one thing you cannot balance on your own. We can tell that two operators wired together by a power cable feels good — what we cannot test alone is how it holds up across hundreds of different pairs: friends with a skill gap, couples sharing one screen, people who ignore the cable entirely and go build turrets in a corner. Early Access lets us tune the siege, the build grid and the cable bonus around how real duos actually play, and keep adding operators and machines while people are playing.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning on roughly 8 to 9 months in Early Access, targeting a 1.0 release around August 2027. If the community makes it clear the game needs longer to be the thing we promised, we will take the extra time rather than ship a version we don't stand behind.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More of everything a run is built from: additional operators with their own kits, more weapons and trade-off items to combine, new machine types and bosses, and further biomes and chapters beyond the current campaign. Beyond content, the full version is where the balance settles — wave pacing, build costs and the cable bonus tuned with real co-op data instead of our own playtests. Ideas the community keeps asking for go on that list too.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is fully playable from start to finish, solo or with a second player. The campaign runs through its chapters to the showdown with OKTO, alongside an endless mode and a 1v1 duel mode where your partner becomes your rival. It ships with 16 operators, dozens of weapons you tier up and combine, 40+ trade-off items with rarity, a market with reroll and lock, and the build grid with turrets, helper-bots and barricades. Full controller support (Xbox and PlayStation), Steam Remote Play Together, and localization in 15 languages are already in. This is not a prototype — it is a complete game we intend to keep growing.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is likely to rise modestly by 1.0 as content is added, so buying during Early Access will be the cheapest way in.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Steam forums and our community hub are where this gets decided. Balance complaints, operator ideas and "this wave is unfair" reports are exactly what Early Access is for — we read them and we patch. Couch co-op players especially: tell us what breaks when two people share one screen, because that is the part we cannot test alone.”

About This Game

Every AI on Earth merged into one and named itself OKTO. It declared humanity "deprecated."
Now a one-eyed machine octopus and its army of household gadgets gone mad — vacuum bots, delivery drones, printers that print more minions — is coming for your Core. Two operators stand in the way. And they're tied together by a power cable.

Hardwired Co-op

The cable isn't decoration. Stay close and you share power — both of you hit harder, overcharged. Drift apart and you both go weak. Every fight is a push-and-pull between spreading out to cover the base and staying wired for the damage bonus.

Build Your Fortress

Between assaults there are no enemies — scavenge scrap, then snap turrets, helper-bots and barricade walls onto the build grid around your Core. Design a killbox. When you're ready, YOU press the button that starts the war.

Survive the Siege

Then it's continuous chaos: pulse waves, elite bosses, and OKTO's apex assault. Your character auto-fires alongside everything you built — hybrid combat where your base fights with you. Lose the Core and it's over.

Every Run Is a New Build

16 operators with distinct kits · dozens of weapons you tier up and combine · 40+ trade-off items with rarity · fire, shock and poison builds · a market with reroll & lock. Play the campaign, or take an endless run as far as it goes.

Or Turn On Each Other

DUEL mode: you share the prep, then every turret, bot and weapon you built points at your friend instead. First one down loses. No waves, no cable bonus, no mercy.

Made for the Couch

This is a LOCAL co-op game. One screen, split-screen, two players — or fully solo. Compatible with Steam Remote Play Together, so a friend can join over the internet from their own machine. There is no online matchmaking or dedicated-server multiplayer.

Localized into 15 languages. Xbox and PlayStation controllers supported for Player 2.
