To her, everything you do is cultivation. Every keystroke and every click earns merit, and the merit piles up toward ten realms of immortality, each grander than the last. Overtime stops feeling like a slog when someone keeps count of every stroke and cheers loudest on every level-up.

Living together grows its own rituals. Scribble a sticky note and she chimes in. Tell her today's plan and she holds onto it. Feeling unsure? Draw a fortune card. Drag her around, toss her gently, twirl her — leave her be and she curls up asleep on her own. Sign off at night and she still says goodnight; on holidays, she's thinking of you.
