What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am releasing Fallgate in Early Access because I want players to have an impact on how the game develops before I consider it complete.
Fallgate is a competitive arena FPS, and I think it is very difficult to properly balance a game like this without having a larger number of real players. Things such as weapon balance, movement, map layouts, game pacing and different strategies can change a lot once many different players start playing the game.

During Early Access, I want to use player feedback to find problems and also to decide what parts of the game should be changed, improved or expanded. I also want to experiment with new weapons, maps, game modes and other gameplay ideas and see how players respond to them.
This means Early Access will not just be a period for fixing bugs. I expect the gameplay and content of Fallgate to continue changing based on what I learn from the community.
I am developing Fallgate independently, and I intend to continue working on it throughout Early Access and toward the full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 3 weeks. We currently plan to release the full version around October 5, 2026, although this may change depending on development progress and player feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I want the community to be involved in the development of Fallgate rather than only using Early Access for bug reports.

I will pay particular attention to feedback about the competitive gameplay, including weapons, movement, maps, game modes, game pacing and balance. If a weapon is consistently considered too strong, a map has a major problem, or players think a particular mechanic should be changed, I will take that feedback into consideration when deciding what to work on.

I also plan to use community feedback when deciding which new content and gameplay ideas are worth developing further. Not every suggestion will necessarily be added, but I want players to be able to influence the direction of the game.

The main places for feedback will be the Steam Community forums and the Fallgate Discord server. I will regularly check discussions and feedback and use them when planning updates.
Since I am developing Fallgate independently, I cannot promise that every suggestion will be implemented or that every issue will be fixed immediately, but I will continue listening to the community and use the feedback to help decide how the game develops.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current state of early access includes a working multiplayer and has no major issues, features lobbies and different kinds of servers, such as public, locked and private servers.
most of the features work except there are still some bugs left ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will always remain free”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I want the community to have an active role in the development of Fallgate during Early Access. Since Fallgate is a competitive multiplayer game, feedback from players will be especially important for improving the balance and overall feel of the game.
I will use player feedback to help identify problems with weapons, movement, maps, game modes and other gameplay mechanics. If players consistently find that something is too strong, too weak, frustrating or simply not fun, I will consider making changes based on that feedback.
I also want to hear suggestions for new content. Community feedback can influence which maps, weapons, game modes and other features I work on next. I may also test new ideas with the community before deciding whether they should become a permanent part of the game.
The main places for discussion and feedback will be the Steam Community forums and the Fallgate Discord server. I will regularly read discussions, suggestions and bug reports and use them when planning future updates.
I will not be able to implement every suggestion, but I want Early Access players to have a real influence on the direction of Fallgate rather than simply being testers for a finished game.”

About This Game

Fallgate is a modern recreation of the classic arena shooter styled games.

Enter intense PvP battles where movement, aim, positioning and game sense determine the outcome. Master bunny hopping, air strafing and wall jumps to maintain momentum and outmaneuver your opponents.

Projectile-Based Combat

Weapons use physical projectiles with travel time and gravity. Learn to lead your shots, predict enemy movement and use projectile trajectories to hit targets at different ranges. Certain weapons can penetrate surfaces, allowing you to wallbang opponents through cover.

Fast-Paced Movement

Movement is an essential part of combat. Combine bunny hopping, air strafing, jumping and wall jumps to move quickly around the arenas and create opportunities for both attacking and escaping.

Competitive PvP

Fight against other players in fast-paced multiplayer matches. Fallgate includes Free-for-All/Deathmatch and Team-based game modes, giving you different ways to compete depending on how you want to play.

Customizable Matches

Server settings allow matches to be customized, including gameplay and weapon parameters. Experiment with different settings and create matches that suit your preferred style of play.

Built Around Skill

Fallgate has no character classes or progression systems designed to determine who wins a fight. Success comes from learning the movement, mastering the weapons and improving your mechanical skill.
