What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“While the game is playable in co-op already with a complete loop, we want to work with the community to make it better. We want to see what becomes exploitable, which enemies stay threatening, and which systems create the funniest or most memorable situations.

We also want to improve the enemy design by adding more unique scenarios and stalking behavior. The game has an interesting balance between looksmaxxing and how that affects gameplay. We want more time and feedback to find what is right. It has been a lot of work to get things to this state, but we 100% think that a more chaotic extraction based on your looks and tools is going to be the key to making the game more fun. We want the chance to create more unique experiences that really integrate well with our items (like Gua Sha, etc.) and player actions like mewing.

You can expect us to listen to all player feedback, fixing bugs, tuning things and balancing difficulty, while we make the gameplay feel more fun and rewarding.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We're planning for roughly 3 to 6 months in Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The core loop is already in place; the goal for the full version is to deepen and polish it rather than replace it. We plan to:

- Expand the enemy roster and add new hazards, events, and encounters
- Add more items, expand the frathouse dungeon generation, add locations, and things to do between parties
- Deepen the looksmaxxing progression and the consequences of your choices
- Improve enemy AI, balance, and the overall moment-to-moment feel
- Add more audio, UI polish, and accessibility and localization options
- Continue hardening multiplayer stability and performance
- More silly ways to die (traps, etc)
- More animations for using items”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable in online co-op today through an escalating quota deadline.

Currently:
- 64 items + 62 grocery items (126 total)
- 8 looks stats
- 19 peptide side effects
- 4 traps
- 7 deployable upgrades
- 6 levels (2 fully proc-gen)
- 15 enemies
- 82 achievements

This is a genuine Early Access build: expect bugs, rough edges, placeholder art in places, and systems that will change as we tune them. Please buy Mogged for what it is today: a rough but complete and genuinely playable co-op experience, rather than for what it may become later.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We may raise the price over the course of Early Access as we add content and polish, and again when the game leaves Early Access. Buying during Early Access will always be the cheapest way to get Mogged, and every Early Access owner keeps the full game at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We'll be listening to the community through the Steam forums, community hub, and a Discord where players can report bugs, share clips, and suggest ideas. Because Mogged is a co-op game, group feedback on balance and enemy design directly guides what we work on next, and we plan to share progress and reasoning as the game develops so players can see where it's heading.”

About This Game

Mogged: Looksmaxx or Die is a 1–8 player proximity voice chat co-op horror comedy game about getting hot before something at the party gets you. Featuring fun physics and a tight extraction loop.

You and your friends made a pact to improve your looks each week, in an ever-rising quota. Fail to improve, and you surrender to hopelessness together. Game over.

THE LOOP

LOOKSMAXX BY DAY
Buy supplies, softmaxx, and get presentable. Even the door guy won't let you into the party if you're too chopped.

PARTY BY NIGHT

Rummage through frat-house cabinets for looksmaxxing contraband while something inside stalks the ugliest person it can find. Keep the operation discreet and, more importantly, stay prettier than at least one of your friends.

BE HOME BY 5AM

Anything still on you after curfew gets confiscated. Sell your extra gear to fund your ascension.

Repeat.

If you've done well, congratulations: the quota goes up.

If your group comes up short, don't panic. Diversify into illegal pharmaceuticals, sketchy procedures, stock trading, or gainful employment. Whatever gets the average higher.

THE PROGRESSION

Being prettier than your friends keeps you alive. Being prettier than the quota keeps the run alive.

Start as a sub3 and drag your looks toward 10 through stolen products, questionable procedures, and increasingly experimental research peptides. Stack enough compounds and you might even push past the genetic hand you were dealt.

Fill your dorm with equipment designed to protect your aura, manage your cortisol, and make the room increasingly difficult to explain to a landlord. Build your underground pharma business. Get rehired at your job, and even LARP with a Ferrari if you need.

And when looksmaxxing stops being enough, there are always more aggressive forms of mogging.

THE ENVIRONMENT

APARTMENT
Your safe space.

MAXMART
Everything you need to softmaxx the responsible way. Skincare, groceries, household supplies, bananas, pineapples, and several items that probably should not be combined.

THE YARD
A forest road connecting civilization to the frat house. Scenic by day. A terrible place to be ugly after dark.

FRAT HOUSE

Your primary source of looksmaxxing contraband. Blend into the party, mog the guests, and steal anything that might raise the group average. Whatever is inside has standards. The basement elevator goes down forever, so count your steps or don't come back.

BASEMENT LAB

Your pharmaceutical headquarters. Mix groceries with research chemicals, test experimental doses on your friends, write the effects on the label, and sell the batch to somebody with even worse judgment. Occasionally, grind a friend into a high quality ingredient. Keep a fire extinguisher nearby.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

AI tools were used in a limited way to help generate parts of some in-game comedic images and voice barks, which were then edited, refined, and finalized by human artists.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

MOGGED is a horror comedy about looksmaxxing culture. It contains:

Violence and gore. Players and NPCs are killed with fists, a hammer and a shotgun. There is blood, corpses and ragdolls. One machine in the game grinds bodies into meat.

Drugs and alcohol. The game is built around performance enhancing drugs. Players inject peptides and steroids, some named after real substances, and can manufacture and sell them. Beer and cigarettes can be consumed. Characters speak favourably about drug use. The tone is satirical and the drugs carry side effects, but the subject is central to the game.

Self-harm. The game references bonesmashing, a real practice where people strike their own face to change its bone structure. It is not something to try. In the game, using the hammer for bonesmashing provides an insignificant, nearly immeasurable improvement at the cost of significantly injuring your player.

Horror. Sudden scares, stalking enemies and dark environments.

Language and humor. Swearing and crude jokes about bodies, death, mental health and drug use.

Online. The game has open voice chat. Valve does not rate what other players say.
