What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Grim Reach is a deep idle RPG with many interconnected systems — skills, crafting, itemization and three combat styles — and player feedback is the best way to balance and polish it. Releasing in Early Access lets the community help shape progression pacing, difficulty and quality-of-life features while we keep expanding the game. We want players involved in what we build and fix next.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We expect Grim Reach to stay in Early Access for roughly 6 to 12 months. This estimate may change based on community feedback and how the game develops — we would rather take the time to get the balance and content right than rush the 1.0 release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version we plan to broaden and deepen the game: more zones, monsters, gear and crafting tiers, additional endgame systems, a guided tutorial and onboarding flow, and more visual and audio polish. We also plan to keep refining balance and quality-of-life based on Early Access feedback. Our goal is a larger, more polished experience than the current build, though specific features may still change during development.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Grim Reach is already a complete, fully playable game. The current version includes the full gather → craft → equip → fight loop, more than a dozen deep skills, hundreds of craftable items across 12 metal tiers, three combat styles (melee, ranged and magic) with auto-battle, rune crafting and weapon enchanting, collectible companions with unique battle actions, per-action mastery, offline progression, and multiple zones and dungeons. You can play from the very start through to a substantial endgame. We are still expanding content, balancing progression, and adding a guided tutorial and further polish during Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to raise the price gradually as we add more content and features during Early Access. Buying during Early Access means getting the game at its lowest price — we expect the price to increase step by step as the game grows toward its full 1.0 release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We want the community closely involved in shaping Grim Reach. We will gather feedback through the Steam Community discussions and our Discord server, ship regular updates driven by player suggestions, and prioritize the balance, quality-of-life and content changes players ask for most. Bug reports and feedback on progression and difficulty will directly guide our development roadmap.”

About This Game

Grim Reach is a dark fantasy idle RPG where the world does not wait for you. It fights back: 28 named Elite Champions stalk the zones on their own schedule, and every real-world weekday carries a Blessing that changes how the whole Reach behaves.

When a Champion surfaces you get the call, a countdown starts, and fifteen minutes later it is gone. Each of the 28 guards a named unique with its own effect, tracked in your codex and on Brenna's bounty board, and the locals comment on all of it. The seven Blessings of the Reach give the real week a rhythm, from richer beast loot under the Blood Moon to faster blades during the Wild Hunt: deliberately mild, no FOMO, and Champions only appear while you play.

Underneath runs a full idle RPG: 20 skills from Woodcutting and Mining to Runecrafting, Herblore and Slayer, plus an action queue that works through your plans even while you are offline. Battles fight themselves but are worth watching: three combat styles, three armor families, pets at your side, dungeons with waves and bosses. And every rare drop is its own instance with a fresh suffix roll — two identical swords are never identical.

• 28 named Elite Champions with 28 unique drops, your first within about 20 minutes

• 7 weekday Blessings: the world changes with the real day

• 20 skills to gather, craft, steal and fight

• Watchable auto-battles: 3 styles, 3 armor families, pets, dungeon bosses

• Loot with a soul: suffix rolls on rare drops, rune enchanting on top

• Real offline progress, an action queue and a mailbox so nothing is ever lost

• No microtransactions, no wipes: saves stay compatible, always

• 7 languages and frequent updates built on player reports

Grim Reach is in Early Access: everything above is playable today, and the game grows through frequent updates, many of them built directly from player reports. Rough edges will appear and get polished — and your save survives every single update, that is a promise.
