Why Early Access?

“First of all: I’m sorry for the wall of text. I want to be as transparent with you as possible, so I wanted to answer all the questions Valve had up its sleeve. Clears throat Okay, here goes …

Showmaster Suite is entering Early Access because I don't want to develop the app only for myself. I want to find out what you would actually like to see in it.

Early Access gives me the chance to collect real feedback instead of simply guessing. Ideally, this will lead to better games, smoother workflows, useful new features, and far fewer stupid decisions.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Showmaster Suite to remain in Early Access for roughly a year, although this is an estimate rather than a fixed deadline.

The exact timing will depend on feedback, stability, usability, and how the app develops during Early Access. I don't want to tie version 1.0 to a specific number of features or games.

For me, the full release is reached when the core experience feels complete, stable, easy to understand, and polished enough that both I and the community are comfortable calling it 1.0.

If that takes a little longer than expected, I would rather extend Early Access than rush out a broken full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already contains the core systems of Showmaster Suite, but I still consider the overall package unfinished.

During Early Access, I plan to expand and refine the Suite based heavily on community feedback. Current areas I would like to work on include:

expanding the selection of available games and game-show formats;
improving existing games, balancing, and their presentation;
refining the tools for creating, organizing, and sharing custom rounds and question content;
improving onboarding, usability, accessibility, and general workflows;
expanding community and Steam integration where it makes sense;
and, of course, fixing bugs and polishing the overall experience.

These are current plans rather than promises set in stone. Some priorities may change depending on what works well, what does not, and what players actually want from the app.

Version 1.0 is therefore intended to represent a point where the Suite feels like a complete and polished product rather than necessarily one enormous update that suddenly drops from the sky.

There may still be a larger release update. I just don't want to promise fireworks now and deliver a sparkler later.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version already includes three fully playable games: Quizpoker, Buzzer Room, and Rank Raiders.

The core hosting and multiplayer systems are implemented, including separate host and player interfaces and Steam-based parties for playing with friends. The Suite also includes tools for creating and managing custom rounds for its games.

In other words, Early Access is not starting with prototypes or unfinished concepts. The three included games are playable from start to finish, while Early Access will be used to expand the overall amount of content, improve existing systems, refine usability, and add further polish.

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No. Showmaster Suite is free during Early Access, and I currently plan for the app itself to remain free after version 1.0 as well.

There may eventually be optional ways to support development. If I add something like that, my current intention is that it should not lock games, gameplay features, or updates behind payment.

Supporting the project should be voluntary, not a requirement for accessing the actual Suite.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is one of the main reasons Showmaster Suite is entering Early Access in the first place.

I plan to use feedback to help decide which parts of the app need improvement, which existing games should be expanded or changed, and what kinds of games and features would be worth exploring next.

You can share feedback, bug reports, and suggestions through the project's Discord server, which is linked from the Steam store page.

I can't promise that every suggestion will make it into the app — otherwise Early Access would probably last until the heat death of the universe — but I do want community feedback to have a real influence on development priorities.”

Showmaster Suite turns your Steam group into an interactive game show.

One person takes the role of host and controls the questions, timers, scores, reveals and flow of the game. Everyone else joins the Steam party and plays through their own synchronized player view.

Choose from three distinct games, create your own questions and ranked lists, or combine your saved rounds into a complete game night.

Quizpoker

What happens when an estimation quiz meets a poker table?

In Quizpoker, two to six participants submit their estimate for a numerical question and put their chips behind their own knowledge. New hints are revealed between betting rounds, but improving your mental estimate will not help if you have already folded.

Check, call, raise, fold or go all-in. Bluff your opponents out of the pot, judge how much the latest hint changes the odds and decide how much your answer is really worth.

Poker-inspired betting rounds, rotating blinds, side pots, split pots and a full showdown make knowledge only part of the challenge. Risk management and reading the table matter just as much.

  

  

Buzzer Room

Speed is not always enough.

Buzzer Room combines classic first-to-buzz questions with written-answer rounds. When the host unlocks the buzzer, every millisecond matters. During text questions, everyone can submit an answer before all entries are revealed and judged together.

Numerical submissions can be compared automatically, allowing the closest estimate to be highlighted immediately. The host controls the questions, sample answers, buzzer locks, scoring and the complete flow of each round.

  

  

Rank Raiders

How many entries from a ranked list can you really name?

In Rank Raiders, two to six teams compete in a tactical bidding battle. Teams repeatedly outbid each other by claiming how many entries they can identify. The highest bidder must then prove it against the clock.

The host reveals correct entries one by one, tracks mistakes and controls the timer. Complete the bid to earn its full value. Fail, and the opposing teams receive the advantage.

From highest-grossing movies and largest countries to popular songs or completely original topics, almost any ranked list can become a new round.

  

  

Build your own rounds

All three games include dedicated editors for custom content.

Create numerical estimation questions for Quizpoker, combine buzzer and text questions in Buzzer Room, or build detailed ranked lists for Rank Raiders. Add answers, hints, additional information, sources and private notes for the host.

Saved rounds can be searched, organized with tags, duplicated and marked as favourites. Your favourite rounds and important settings can be synchronized between devices through Steam Cloud.

  

  

A complete Steam party for your show

Create public, friends-only or private parties. Invite Steam friends directly, share a short join code or use the integrated party browser to find a suitable group.

The launcher includes a member list, group chat and private conversations. Hosts can manage participants, transfer control of the party and launch a game for the entire group.

Should the original host lose their connection, the session can be recovered when they return instead of forcing everyone to restart the entire game night.

  

  

Made for game nights, streams and custom shows

Separate host and player views keep private information where it belongs. Quizpoker and Rank Raiders also provide dedicated spectator views suitable for a second monitor, television, projector or stream.

Flexible window placement, fullscreen and borderless display modes, interface scaling and separate audio controls help adapt the suite to your personal setup.
