By downloading, installing, or using Showmaster Suite (the "App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you don't agree, please don't use the App.

The App is distributed through Steam, so your use of it is also governed by the
[Steam Subscriber Agreement (https://store.steampowered.com/subscriber_agreement/) and Valve's own terms. Where these Terms and Steam's terms conflict on a matter Steam controls (billing, platform access, account bans, etc.), Steam's terms take precedence for that matter.


Showmaster Suite is a free desktop app for hosting quiz nights and game shows with friends over Steam. One player (the "host"/"moderator") invites others into a Steam lobby and runs a game session; invited players join as participants. The App currently includes three playable games (Buzzerraum, Quizpoker, Rank Raiders), with more planned over time.


Showmaster Suite is being released and developed as an Early Access title. That means:
- Features may be incomplete, change, or be removed entirely before a stable 1.0 release.

- Bugs, crashes, and balance issues should be expected - this is normal for software in active development, not a defect we're hiding from you.

- We don't guarantee a specific timeline for reaching 1.0, or that every currently-planned feature will ship.

- Your save data (settings, quiz rounds, favorites) is stored locally and, where you enable it, backed up via Steam Cloud - but as with any Early Access software, we can't guarantee against data loss during major updates. Back up quiz rounds you especially care about.


Showmaster Suite is free to download and play. There are currently no in-app purchases, subscriptions, or premium features. Additional games we add to the App later may be released as separate, free, optional downloads - you choose which ones to install. If this ever changes, we'll update these Terms and be upfront about it before anything is introduced.


The App doesn't have its own account system - you play using your Steam account and Steam's lobby/friends system. You're responsible for what happens in lobbies you host, including the content of any quiz rounds you create and share with the people you invite.


When you build a quiz round, a Quizpoker question set, or a Rank Raiders list inside the App, that content is yours. It's stored locally on your device (and, if you enable Steam Cloud sync, in your own Steam Cloud storage) - we don't collect, host, or have access to it ourselves.

You're responsible for the content you create - please don't include anything illegal, harassing, or that infringes someone else's rights. Since round content stays on your own device and within your own private lobbies, we generally have no visibility into it and no ability to moderate it; if you use it to harass someone, that's between you and them (and possibly Steam/Discord's own enforcement, depending on where it happens).


Because sessions run through Steam lobbies with people you've personally invited, we don't run any central chat or matchmaking to moderate. Please treat the people you play with decently. If issues come up around harassment or abuse via our Discord server specifically, our Discord's own rules and moderation apply there.


The Showmaster Suite name, logo, and original assets (art, sound, in-app text) belong to HeckMeck Indie Dev. You're welcome to stream, record, and share videos or screenshots of yourself playing the App. You may not redistribute, resell, decompile, or repackage the App itself outside of the way Steam distributes it, except as Steam's own terms allow.


The App is provided "as is" and "as available," especially given its Early Access status. To the extent permitted by law, we make no warranties that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or fit for any particular purpose.


To the extent permitted by applicable law, HeckMeck Indie Dev won't be liable for
indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the App - including lost data from quiz rounds you created, to the extent not covered by Steam Cloud backup. Nothing in these Terms limits liability for things that can't legally be limited (e.g. liability for intent or gross negligence, or statutory consumer rights that apply in your jurisdiction).


The App relies on third-party services we don't control, each governed by their own terms:

- Steam / Steamworks (Valve Corporation) - lobbies, friends, cloud saves, achievements.

- Discord - our community server.

- Codecks - our public roadmap.

We're not responsible for outages, policy changes, or data handling on those platforms beyond what we describe in our [Privacy Policy].


Because this is Early Access software, we may add, change, or remove features, or discontinue optional services we run ourselves (like the Discord team-badge feature) at any time. We'll try to give notice on Discord for anything significant. We may also update these Terms as the App evolves - we'll post the updated version here with a new date.


You can stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We may suspend or restrict access to optional services we run ourselves (e.g. Discord role features) for anyone who violates these Terms or our Discord rules, without needing to affect your Steam ownership of the App itself, which remains governed by Steam's own terms.


These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, without prejudice to any mandatory consumer-protection rights you have under the laws of the country where you live.
