“Norectus is a competitive multiplayer game, and the best version of it is one shaped by the people who play it. We are launching in Early Access so our community can help us balance the cards and refine each mode, and so the things we build next are the things players actually want. A live, growing player base also lets us tune matchmaking and the online experience against real conditions instead of guesswork. Getting players involved now means the 1.0 release is something we build together.”

“Norectus is fully playable right now. The current version includes:

- Online 1v1 PvP, casual and ranked
- Clan Wars 2v2
- The Gauntlet, a 100-floor solo and co-op roguelike
- Theatre of War nation conquest, Throne, and co-op boss raids
- A full deckbuilder with import and export, and a growing card pool across multiple nations
- A cosmetics and collection system, hundreds of achievements, replays, in-game voice chat, and emotes
- Cross-play between desktop and browser on a single account

As an Early Access game, expect ongoing changes. You may hit the occasional bug, and we will be balancing cards and adjusting modes regularly based on what we learn from players. We read feedback through our Discord and the Steam Community forums.”

NORECTUS: THEATRE OF WAR

Five nations. One battlefield. Every match, you take a Leader to war and build the deck that wins it.

Norectus is a strategy card game about reading your opponent and committing at the right moment. You spend crystals to summon units and hold up tactics to punish a greedy attack, all while wearing down a Leader who is trying to do the same to you. The cards matter. The timing matters more.

If you have played a card game before, you will feel at home in a few minutes. If you want to go deep, there is plenty here: five nations that each play differently, plus keyword combos that reward setting up your turns. And the card pool keeps growing.

TWO GAMES IN ONE!?!?

Norectus also has Leader Clash, a full auto-battler (auto-chess) mode built right into the game. Draft Leaders and position your units across formation lanes, then watch the rounds play out as up to eight commanders fight to be the last one standing. Scout your rivals between rounds and adapt your board as you climb. It plays nothing like a standard card match, so it is a second game living inside the first.

WHAT YOU CAN PLAY

Ranked and casual 1v1: The heart of the game. Queue up and climb. See where you land.

Leader Clash: An auto-battler for up to eight players. Draft Leaders and build a board, then outlast the table.

The Gauntlet: A 100-floor run where you collect boons between fights and try to get deeper than last time. Mini-bosses and elite floors, with the odd treasure room or rest stop in between. Bring friends and run it as a party.

Theatre of War: Lay siege to a fortified garrison in the nation conquest campaign. Long, grinding matches where attrition decides it.

Throne: Win, and you hold the crown. Keep winning, and you defend it against everyone lining up to take it.

Co-op raids: Gang up on a boss built to take a whole team to bring down.

Clan Wars: Join a clan and fight 2v2 in the weekly war, climbing the War Points ladder together.

BUILT TO KEEP
Everything you unlock follows your account across desktop and browser. There are hundreds of achievements to chase and a pile of replays to study or share. Unlock card backs and emotes to make the game your own, and find a clan to call home.

Norectus is free to play, and the only things that cost money are cosmetic.

This is Early Access. The game is very playable today, and it is going to get bigger. Jump in and give us a hard time in our Discord server. You will help decide what comes next.

Some of the artwork currently in Norectus: Theatre of War was created with generative AI tools during development, including card art, in-game backgrounds, and store images. We use it as placeholder art so we can build, balance, and expand the game during Early Access. We are commissioning human artists and replacing this AI-generated art over time. Every AI-assisted asset is reviewed by our team before it goes into the game.
