What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The Trivia Show only becomes what it should be in front of real groups. We can test rooms internally, but we cannot fake eight friends shouting over each other, the answer nobody expected, or the death that makes a whole lobby laugh. We want players in the show early, telling us which rooms land, which questions are unfair, and which deaths they clip and share. The question library and the rooms will grow around what they tell us.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to leave Early Access within six to twelve months. We would rather take the extra months than ship a version we are not happy with, and we will keep the roadmap and any change of plan public on the store page and in our Discord.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to add many more rooms and game modes, and to keep expanding the question library across categories and difficulty levels. We plan to refine the systems and animations already in the game until they feel right, and to add more characters and outfits to play dress up with. We also have a few things we are keeping quiet about for now. What we will not change is the core: a quiz where the wrong answer kills you, played with friends.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a full game night, not a demo. Up to 8 players online, six rooms that each kill you in their own way, over 1,500 questions across nine categories and three difficulty levels, in 14 languages. Custom question packs can be built in minutes and shared through the Steam Workshop. Proximity voice chat, controller support, unlockable costumes, and matches that run start to finish.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. We plan to raise the price when the game leaves Early Access, as rooms, modes and content are added. Players who join during Early Access pay the lower price and get every update at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Three places, and we read all of them. A Discord where we talk to the people who play in groups, because that is where a party game is really tested. The Steam forums and discussions, for reports and requests that should stay public. And the creators and streamer groups who play the game on stream, whose lobbies show us in one evening what a hundred internal matches would not.”

About This Game

One question. A few seconds. Six ways to die.

The Trivia Show is a party quiz for up to 8 friends. A question appears on the screen and the clock starts. Get it wrong and the room makes you pay, each one in its own way.

Six rooms

  • Platforms: answer wrong and the platform under your feet blows up. Answer right and you earn banana peels to throw at the others.
  • Armory: right answers get a rifle, wrong answers get a pistol. Then the shooting starts, between forts made of cushions.
  • Bomb: a wrong answer arms the bomb on your ankle. You have three seconds to get away from the others, or to run straight at them.
  • Cistern: two teams, two tanks. Each team answers by majority, and every mistake raises the water.
  • Survival: every mistake calls in a pack of axe-wielding gnomes. Right answers give you the bullets to fight back.
  • Roulette: everyone sits around a table. The first right answer grabs the revolver: one bullet, six chambers, and you choose who.

Points count. Action turns it around.

Every right answer is worth points, dying costs you some and surviving a room earns a bonus. A well-aimed shot or a banana peel at the right moment can flip the leaderboard right up to the last room.

Die, haunt, come back

Die and you spend the rest of the room as a ghost, close enough to talk, get in the way and throw things. Every new room starts with everyone alive again, so nobody sits out for long.

The pressure rises

The better you play, the higher the pressure: harder questions, meaner rooms. The show gets nastier as you get better.

Every match is different

Rooms come up in random order and many are rebuilt every time, with toy mines hidden along the way. Before team rooms, a few seconds of chaos decide who you end up with.

Talk, dress up, play again

Proximity voice chat lets you hear whoever is next to you, like in a real room. Play to unlock costumes and dress up your character in the wardrobe. Over 1,500 questions across nine categories, with a difficulty that follows the pressure.

Your questions, your show

Build a question pack in minutes, about your channel, your friends, your group, and share it through the Steam Workshop. The game ships in 14 languages.
