Idle by default, deep when you lean in. BreakEven is an idle ARPG about the grind that pays off: auto-battle through a dark fantasy world, chase ultimate loot, and build a Knight, Mage, Archer or Necromancer into an unstoppable engine of damage. No seasons. No wipes. Just you and the next upgrade.

Why Early Access?

“Working closely with the community is essential to how I want BreakEven to evolve.
Your feedback on gameplay, features, and balance will directly shape improvements and guide future content.
With your help, I can ensure BreakEven remains balanced and engaging!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I anticipate BreakEven being in Early Access for approximately 6–12 months.
This timeline may evolve based on player feedback and ongoing development.
As Early Access approaches, I'll share a detailed roadmap and keep you updated on my development plan.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to add more content during the Early Access phase.
This includes playable characters, enemies, interactive elements, and content suggested by the community.
I also plan to improve and balance the gameplay according to the feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in active development.
The current build already includes fully playable zones 1–6, endgame and featuring polished combat gameplay against a variety of enemies.
All core Idle mechanics and essential character meta-progression elements are implemented, along with the fully multicharacter offline progression.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I plan to offer BreakEven at an introductory price during Early Access to make it accessible while development continues.
As the game expands with new content and features, the price will increase accordingly.
Rest assured, you'll receive advance notice before any price adjustments.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'd love to ask you to co-develop the game with me.
Your thoughts and ideas shared on Discord after each playtest and demo are incredibly valuable.
BreakEven is made for you, and your feedback will be essential in making it the best experience possible.”

About This Game

IDLE. UPGRADE. DOMINATE.

BreakEven is an idle ARPG for people who love the loop: kill, loot, upgrade, hit harder, repeat.

The combat runs itself while you make the decisions that matter, what to equip, where to spec, which build to chase. Step away and your hero keeps fighting. Come back and there's always one more upgrade waiting.

It plays like an action RPG and respects your time like an idle game.

The depth is there when you want it, and it never gets in your way when you don't.

Pick your hero

  • The Knight: a physical bruiser who walks into the fray, shrugs off status effects, and turns raw Strength into bone-breaking melee damage.

  • The Mage: a ranged caster who bends Wisdom into spellfire, weaving a mana-driven spell rotation that stacks devastating ailments on everything it touches.

  • The Archer: a precision ranged striker who lives and dies by crit, attack speed and bleed, raining arrows that pile on physical punishment from across the screen.

  • The Necromancer: a dark summoner who raises the dead to fight at their side and rots the living with curses, poison and fear.

Every class is a completely different playstyle with its own progression path and gear identity: plate and steel for the Knight, robes and staves for the Mage, and distinct arsenals for the rest.

Run multiple characters and build them your way.

A combat engine with real depth

  • Seven status ailments: Burn, Poison, Bleed, Freeze, Paralysis, Sleep and Fear, each with its own mechanical bite, shredding defense, amplifying incoming damage, slowing attacks, forcing misses, and more.

  • Seven damage elements: Fire, Ice, Shock, Toxic, Arcane, Mental and Bleed. Resistances are real mitigation, not a footnote, and they matter on both sides of the fight.

  • True ARPG math: crit, crit damage, crit resistance, penetration, dodge, attack speed, lifesteal, spikes and regen all interact the way a loot-game veteran expects.

  • Dozens of themed enemies and bosses, each with their own attacks and ailments to play around.

Loot worth grinding for

  • Six rarities from Common all the way up to Ultimates, and the higher you climb, the better the floor gets.

  • Deep affix system with item levels, set items, and uniques to hunt and assemble.

  • Crafting and smithing: forge your own gear, reroll for the perfect stat line, and turn raw materials into upgrades.

  • Forbidden Stashes full of loot to crack open, with the dopamine hit of a great drop front and center.

Built to respect you

  • No seasons. No seasons, no reset chasing you off your own progress.

  • No forced prestige or account wipes. What you earn stays earned.

  • No pay-to-win. Cosmetics only. Your power comes from play, not your wallet.

BreakEven is the grind without the FOMO. Idle when you want it, hardcore when you don't.

Start a hero. Find one more upgrade. Break even, then break everything.
