About This Game

47 crews went down before you. None reached the core.

NARON is a co-op mining roguelite for 1-4 players. Take your drillship twenty levels beneath the surface of NARON-M, a dying moon. Mine resources, fight hostile creatures and complete each level's main objective. Only then can the ship drill deeper.

Every bit of progress on the main objective makes the trip back more dangerous. Pressure fronts spread. Creatures pour out of their nests. Mine one more vein or head back to the ship? Your crew makes the call together.

Head out. Get the job done. Get back alive.

  • Explore the caves. Every run takes you through newly generated terrain. Find resources and dig your own paths.

  • Complete the objective. Recovery, demolition or construction against the clock: finish the main objective to unlock the next descent.

  • Weigh up the detour. Extra resources keep you supplied. Optional side contracts earn NARON Points. Is it worth staying out a little longer?

  • Get ready. Back aboard, craft supplies and vote on your next route at the cockpit terminal.

Your route. Your risk.

The cockpit terminal shows what lies ahead on each route: biomes, objectives, loot and hazards. Thin air drains your stamina. Acid eats through your filters. Other routes take you past overcrowded nests.

The safer path offers less loot. The dangerous one promises more. Cast your vote and head down.

No path? Dig one.

Cut through fully deformable rock in first person. Follow ore veins, connect caves and blast a shortcut back to the ship.

Explore procedurally generated rock caverns, mushroom caves, flooded chambers, lava caves, ice fields and crystal caves. Each environment has its own resources, wildlife and hazards.

One of you works. The others provide cover.

Recover something buried in the rock, or build against the clock while your crew covers you. Fight back against the creatures with a revolver, flamethrower, shotgun and assault rifle. Boss fights await on the way down, too.

Share the work and watch each other's backs. If someone goes down, they'll need a teammate to revive them.

The tunnel behind you could become your grave

Tunnels can collapse and bury you. Pressure fronts spread through the caves and cut off your way back. Toxic gas burns through your filters, lava heats the rock and oxygen runs short underwater.

The job is done. Now make it back to the ship alive.

One ship. The whole way down.

Your drillship stays with you for the entire run. Store resources aboard, use the workbench to craft medical supplies, seismic charges, fuel and filter cartridges, then plan your next descent at the cockpit terminal.

What you bring back determines how well equipped you are for the next level.

Stay in touch. Stay alive.

Talk through proximity voice chat and switch to the radio when you split up. Ping discoveries, spray directions onto the rock and revive downed crewmates.

NARON is fully playable solo. With a crew, survival also depends on someone answering when you call for help. Calling it a night? You can save your run and pick it up later.

The run ends. Your progress stays.

If the whole crew falls, the run is over. Keep the NARON Points you've earned from contracts and depth milestones, then spend them on permanent upgrades to health, stamina, mining and more. Or pick up some hats and emotes for your next attempt.

You start again at the top. A little wiser, better prepared and with a score to settle.
