What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Lightspire Cards is currently in active development, but the core game is already playable. Early Access will let us improve the game with player feedback while we continue refining balance, usability, content, presentation, and multiplayer stability.

The core tactical card battle systems, deckbuilding, campaign framework, skirmish flow, collection management, crafting, terrain, quests, and fusion mechanics are playable, but content, balance, UI polish, visuals, audio, and campaign implementation are still being expanded and refined.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Lightspire Cards to remain in Early Access for roughly 3 to 6 months after its Early Access launch. The game is already playable with its core card-battling systems and casual multiplayer in place, and Early Access will be focused on balance, polish, usability, bug fixing, content tuning, and improving multiplayer stability.

This estimate may change depending on player feedback and the amount of iteration needed, but we will keep the store page and community updated if the schedule changes significantly.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to be a more polished and better-balanced version of the current game, with improvements to card balance, usability, presentation, progression, AI behavior, campaign content, and multiplayer stability.

Casual multiplayer is included in the Early Access version. Additional online features, such as more structured competitive play, may be explored during development, but players should not buy the game expecting ranked multiplayer to be included.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is a playable card-battling game with the core gameplay systems in place. Players can build and play decks, battle against AI opponents, and play casual multiplayer matches.

During Early Access, we expect to continue improving balance, fixing bugs, polishing the interface and presentation, tuning progression, and addressing multiplayer stability issues based on player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not currently plan to change the base price when Lightspire Cards leaves Early Access. Early Access players will own the full game when it transitions to 1.0.

If our pricing plans change in the future, we will communicate that ahead of time where possible.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to involve the community through feedback on balance, card design, multiplayer stability, usability, and overall game feel. Players can share feedback through the Steam Community forums, Steam reviews, and any linked community channels listed on the store page.

We will use player feedback to help prioritize fixes, balance changes, quality-of-life improvements, and future content during Early Access.”

About This Game

Enter the city of Luna

Lightspire Cards is a dark fantasy tactical card battler where deckbuilding meets board control. Every duel unfolds on a grid-based battlefield where position, terrain, timing, and hidden information matter as much as the cards in your hand.

Set in the world of Lightspire, The Outcast Knight follows Seraphina Thorn and a cast of saints, schemers, exiles, nobles, monsters, and revenants through a story-driven campaign of broken vows, political betrayal, forbidden faith, and desperate survival.

Build your deck. Command the board.

Choose cards from rival factions and strange bloodlines, each with its own resources, tactics, and identity. Spend Faith, Materials, Blood, Nature, and Souls to summon units, cast spells, raise structures, equip champions, and turn fragile openings into decisive battlefield pressure.

Cards are not just played and forgotten. They move, fight, flip, fuse, transform, complete quests, gain power, and hold territory.

Terrain is power

The battlefield is not neutral. Slums, cathedrals, noble districts, waterways, hearths, and cursed places can empower the right units or weaken the wrong ones. A clever move can turn a modest card into a threat, while a careless one can leave your champion exposed.

Victory comes from reading the board, controlling key tiles, and forcing your opponent into bad ground.

Fuse, equip, and improvise

Lightspire’s summon system rewards experimentation. Stack cards onto a tile to create fusions, attach equipment, trigger powerups, or discover powerful combinations. Some plays require planning. Others are born from desperation.

Learn recipes, complete character quests, and find the exact moment to reveal a hidden card, commit a resource, or sacrifice one piece to awaken something stronger.

A dark fantasy campaign

Battle through a narrative campaign adapted from The Outcast Knight, facing duels shaped by story context, rival leaders, unique maps, and scenario objectives. Between fights, refine decks, manage your collection, craft new cards, dismantle extras, and prepare for the next trial.

All AI-assisted content is reviewed, edited, selected, and integrated by the developer. The game does not use live generative AI during gameplay.
