What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“The core mechanic of Friendly Fire — auto-firing turrets that
also hurt the player — is an unconventional design that needs
extensive feedback from real players to refine its balance and
feel. Early Access lets us iterate quickly based on community
input: weapon stats, enemy AI, character build diversity, and
how much "self-damage" players are willing to tolerate all need
real playtest data to land in the right place.

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 6 to 12 months. The actual timeline depends on how
quickly we can process player feedback and our content update
cadence. The window may shorten or extend depending on how much
the game needs to be reworked.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Updates will be driven primarily by player feedback. Additions
may include — but are not limited to — characters, maps, weapons,
upgrades, skills, new enemy types, and additional achievements.
That said, the game's overall design is still being explored, so
requests that would require major technical or design overhauls
may not always be feasible.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version includes all core features
listed in the "About This Game" section above, including the
self-damaging turret system, multiple turret types, enemy waves,
character classes, difficulty settings, and achievements. Please
refer to the "About This Game" section for detailed gameplay
information.

Currently playable content:
- Complete core gameplay loop (20-minute survival + Endless mode)
- 24 turret types
- 11 enemy types
- 5 playable characters
- 3 difficulty levels
- 36 achievements
- 12 supported languages

The game is fully playable. During Early Access, we will
continue to refine balance and add more content based on
player feedback.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“To give something back to the players who supported the game
during Early Access, I personally lean toward raising the price
slightly when the full version releases. How much depends on
how much content gets added and how much time we invest. If
there isn't much expansion, the adjustment will only be a
small one — but I do want the players who supported us from
the start to get something in return.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'll mainly be reading player reviews and adjusting the game
based on the suggestions there. If someone brings up an
interesting idea, or if a serious bug shows up, it's easier to
deal with that way.”

About This Game

Friendly Fire is a bullet hell survivor with a twist.

You'll need to survive 20 minutes against waves of enemies — but your

greatest threat might be your own weapons.

You can choose from many turrets, each with different strengths. The

stronger the weapon, the bigger the danger to yourself. Your turrets

don't care who they hit — every bullet that lands on you deals damage.

Your only ways to survive: movement, dash, and a shield with limited

durability.

────────────────

[Core Mechanics]

• Your turrets are double-edged — every bullet can hurt you

• Shield system — block and reflect friendly fire, with bonus

damage on deflected shots

• Dash through bullet hell — invincible while dashing

• Stronger weapons = greater self-damage risk

[Content]

• 24 turrets in EA — machine gun, sniper, shotgun, mortar, laser,

homing missile, flamethrower, black hole, sawblade, mine, gatling,

spike trap, echo, parasite shot, railgun, volley, harpoon, plasma,

tuning fork, catapult, drill, caltrop, burning ground, boomerang

• 22 turret upgrades — crit, pierce, ricochet, burn, freeze,

execute, overheat mode, and more

• 50+ player perks — death totem, lifeline, golden time, chain hit,

violent reflection, orbital shield, and more

• 11 enemy types — tanks, swarms, chargers, splitters, suicide

bombers, summoners, and more

• 5 characters — Average Joe, Live Round Purist, Laser Purist,

AoE Specialist, Defensive Build — each with unique bonuses and penalties

• 21 meta upgrades — convert kills into permanent boosts: health,

armor, weapon damage, enemy count, and more

• 3 difficulties — Easy / Normal / Hard

────────────────

[Endless Mode]

• After surviving 20 minutes, choose to continue the challenge

• Enemy HP and damage caps removed — push your skills to the limit

────────────────

[Supported Languages]

• English, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Japanese,

Korean, French, German, Spanish (Spain), Italian,

Portuguese (Brazil), Russian, Polish
