A 1-4 player co-op prison escape. The walls, the schedule, the guards — every one of them is a problem you have to solve yourself. Work it out together, keep it buried, and pick your moment carefully. You won't get a second one.

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Inside Job is a game about a prison that has to feel like a real, working system - guards on schedules, routines that repeat, and gaps you are supposed to find on your own. How well that holds up is something we can only learn from watching people actually play it, especially in co-op, where four players will break a plan in ways we would never think of. We would rather build the rest of this game with those players than guess at it for another year in private.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are planning for roughly twelve months. That is an estimate, not a promise - if the game needs longer to be worth its full release, it gets longer. We would rather move the date than ship something half-finished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We are working towards more prison's to break out of - additional areas and more than one way through them - so that a second run does not repeat the first. We also want to deepen what happens between players: better tools for coordinating, and more ways for a plan to fall apart because of the people in it rather than the guards. Beyond that, the roadmap is deliberately open, because a good part of it should come from what Early Access players tell us.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The prison is fully playable solo and in co-op for up to four players. A day runs on a real schedule - cell time, block, chow hall, yard and headcount - and the guards run on it too, with patrol routes, sightlines and a suspicion system that reacts to where you are and what you look like. You can pick up and craft what you find, hide it, work doors and keypads, and you will be caught and dealt with if you get it wrong. What is not in yet: no controller support, no voice chat, and the prison is one location rather than several.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The Early Access price is lower, and we expect to raise it when the game leaves Early Access. Everyone who buys during Early Access keeps the game and gets every update at no extra cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We read the Steam discussions and our Discord, and we would rather hear about a broken plan than a polite one. Co-op bugs in particular are close to impossible to find without players - if you can tell us what four people were doing when it went wrong, that is worth more to us than any bug report form. We post what we are working on as we go, including the parts that are not working.”

About This Game

NOBODY TELLS YOU HOW TO GET OUT OF HERE. THAT'S THE WHOLE PROBLEM.

You're an inmate. So are your friends. There is no briefing, no marker on

a map, no voice in your ear. There is a prison that runs like clockwork -

and somewhere in that clockwork, a mistake nobody has made yet.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

READ THE ROUTINE

Cell, yard, chow hall, headcount. This place moves on a schedule and it

does not care about yours. Learn where you're supposed to be, and you'll

start noticing all the places you're not.

NOTHING IN HERE IS A TOOL YET

Everything you need is already inside these walls, disguised as something

harmless. Finding it is the easy part. Keeping it - through every cell

search, with nowhere to put it - is not.

YOU'RE NOT WALKING OUT DRESSED LIKE THIS

Past a certain point, the prison stops asking what you're doing and starts

asking who you are. Being somewhere you don't belong is a problem. Looking

like you don't belong is a much bigger one.

SOME HOURS ARE NOT YOURS

The prison is never empty, only quieter. Flashlight beams sweep the yard,

doors you used an hour ago don't open anymore, and the moment a siren goes

up, every guard in the building knows exactly what it means.

1-4 PLAYER CO-OP

Do it alone and take all the time you need - or bring up to three friends

and find out how fast a plan comes apart when four people improvise at

once. 30-40 minute rounds. You get out together, or you don't get out.
