About This Game

Your brother went down last summer. The letters stopped in October.

ABOUT THE GAME

On March 14th, 1984, the earth tore open.

Thousands of massive, bottomless pits appeared across the world. No warning. No seismic activity. No explanation. Entire cities, and the thousands who lived within them, were swallowed by the earth in an instant. It remains the largest unexplained geological event in history.  Those trying to grasp what happened called this event The Swallow.

Deep in the pits, they found Lumora. The world, still grieving, called it the only good thing to come out of the worst moment in living memory.

The Lumora rush began within months. Corporations, governments, and independent miners descended on the pits from every direction. The market was open. The mineral was everywhere. Anyone willing to go down could bring something back up.

Happy Hollow Mining Co. had a different idea. They launched the Minor Miner Program.

Send your child to summer camp. They’ll learn responsibility, teamwork, and the value of hard work. In return, they’ll mine Lumora, and you’ll get paid by the pound. The deeper they go, the more you earn.

Parents signed up in droves. Nobody asked why they needed children specifically. The caves are narrow, and the kids could fit in the tunnels without bringing down heavy equipment. It made sense. People wanted it to make sense.

The program is now in its third year. The waiting list is six months long.

You are Jonah, a twelve-year-old sent to Happy Hollow’s Camp 47.

Last summer your parents sent your older brother Eli.

He never came home.

Now you’re here to find him.

Explore the deceptively cheerful grounds of Camp 47 and the vast, lightless caverns beneath it. The deeper you descend, the less the smiles and slogans make sense. Lumora glows under your feet while something ancient and wrong stirs in the dark.

FEATURES

  • Minor Miner is a focused 5-6 hour narrative horror experience with a complete story, no filler or padding.

  • Explore Camp 47 and the cave systems that descend beneath it. Navigate claustrophobic tunnels, discover hidden chambers, and map your way through a tight cave network that does not want to be understood

  • Meet a cast of characters, above and below ground, and mine Lumora to gain their trust. Earn the trust of management and maybe they'll bring you closer to finding Eli.

  • Manage your resources, your light, flares, med kits, and nerves. The caves are dark, the tunnels are tight, and something else is down here with you. Manage your equipment well to survive the darkness.

A NOTE FROM THE DEVELOPER

Minor Miner is being developed by one person. It is a small game about the things some institutions will do to the powerless, and the older, stranger forces that were here long before any institution existed.

It is a horror game, but more than that, it is about a boy looking for his brother.

Thank you for being here at the beginning.

Wishlist now. Jonah is already underground.
