About This Demo

Look, mistakes happen. And you'll make them happen in this demo of Rex Summons a Meteor. Accidentally summon a meteor with your tribe's shaman and then panic.

The plan is simple: canvas the archipelago, unite the prehistoric locals, and convince the island to evacuate. The catch? This is like... a demo so you can't actually finish doing all that stuff. But you can start! The locals aren't cooperating, so resolve their petty requests and get them off this island before the meteor hits.

The demo is the whole first island of Rex Summons a Meteor, from before that first spell to the moment the meteor arrives and the way off the island opens. Around 20-30 minutes worth of playtime if you don't get distracted by all the fun you'll be having. What fun, you ask? Read on!

What's in the Demo

☄️ Make Things Worse, Spectacularly

A massive space rock is hurtling toward Earth at terminal velocity. Technically your fault. But dwelling on the past won't save anyone from total incineration, so focus on the immediate problem: pooling walnut-sized brainpower, improvising a miracle, and surviving this mess before the sky caves in.

🛹 Kickflip Through the Apocalypse

Get in the local raptor's good books and the island becomes a skatepark. Ollies, flips, grabs, and grinds, chained into combos across rails and ramps. It does nothing whatsoever about the meteor. It is still the best use of your time.

🎺 Play a Rhythm Game Duet

Wow what, more sidequest minigames? Duet with a lonely Parasaurolophus from the bottom of a hole in the beach. Play the entire single song that's included in the demo and then wishlist the game in anticipation of more.

🧩 Solve a Complex (For a Dinosaur) Puzzle

Problem-solving on this island requires intellect, focus, and a high tolerance for trial and error. Deduce what the dinosaurs are asking for in emoji (that's called a rebus) and take a break by amplifying light through glass orbs to obliterate the meteor. Test your wits against delightfully low-stakes brainteasers designed to push prehistoric brains to their absolute limit.

💬 Converse via Modern "Cave Paintings"

Dinosaurs don't speak English. They don’t have vocal cords, they don't have dictionaries, and humanity won't invent the alphabet for roughly 66 million years. Instead, communicate through island pictographs that look suspiciously like modern emojis. Decode chaotic strings of visual clues, deduce who needs what, and try not to cause an incident by misinterpreting what 🍆 means.

What Are You Waiting for?

By now you should be suitably convinced about how much of a good idea it is to play this demo and wishlist the full game. You don't need to be reading this when you could be experiencing it first hand. The demo is FREE. You can play it RIGHT NOW. What are you waiting for?

This demo includes the entirety of the first island in Rex Summons a Meteor, with the main quest, a couple of side quests, and some minigames to pass the time whilst waiting for extinction. Playtime is around 20-30 minutes unless you get really distracted trying to get a highscore on the skateboard or 100% on the rhythm game. Saves and achievements carry over to the main game so play as long as you like. If you enjoy the demo, a review helps more than you might think, and a wishlist means you'll be notified as soon as the game releases!
