Why Early Access?

“Witchworker is a game about fulfilling the fantasy of studying and casting magic. Early access provides a great way to involve players in the development process and in fulfilling this fantasy. To this end I plan to implement players ideas for magical spells, lore and general content throughout development.

My previous game "GRIDROAD" was also developed through early access. Player feedback was crucial in improving and refining the game over the course of development and I hope to replicate this experience with Witchworker.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Around 6-12 months.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The early access version currently takes place in one room and has a limited set of magical spells to learn and magical textbooks to study from.

I plan for the full version of the game to significantly expand on the amount magical spells to cast and textbooks to study from. The magical skills you learn will enable you to unlock and explore a wider environment and unravel the mysteries of the magical atelier you find yourself locked in. I also intend to add a variety of Steam achievements and other quality of life features such as Steam cloud.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version has 13 books to read and 5 spells to cast.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will rise in price gradually as I add new content and features.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“I'd love to hear feedback on what sorts of magical spells you would like to see, what sorts of magical books you would like to read and any other feedback/suggestions. If it fits with the game, I will do my best to implement your ideas.

I am most active on the community Discord and here on the Steam forums.”

About This Game

In Witchworker you play as a cleaner who has been hired to tidy a Witch's atelier. You will soon find that your employer is conspicuously absent and that you are now trapped in her arcane workshop.

STUDY

Strewn across the atelier are a variety of textbooks covering magical history, magical theory and practical magic. You have little else to do so you may as well start studying.

SPELLCAST

Perhaps if you study the books long enough you might be able to piece together a magical spell. Use your knowledge from the books to cast magical spells.

EXPLORE

The atelier holds many secrets. Perhaps the magical spells you learn will help you uncover and explore the ateliers many mysteries.
