What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Pentapip combines classic scorecard logic with a layered roguelike structure, and that kind of system benefits from iterative balancing and improvements in a live environment.
The core loop of the game is working as intended, but needs a lot of community help, feedback and ideas in order to further improve, fix, balance and expand all the content.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 6 months. This timeline is intended to support multiple update cycles focused on balancing, usability improvements, and production polish.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to include broader content, more intricate synergies and modifiers, even more theatrical effects and much deeper polish.

Just the core loop is not enough for a full release, so I really would love some community input and help working out the bugs, coming up with new ideas and concepts to make the final version packed with balanced, fun and unique content, which currently is just in it's infancy.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version is playable and includes the core game systems and intended gameplay loop. It currently supports run progression, boss encounters, and additional modes such as daily play and multiplayer in a basic working state.
There will be bugs, there might be crashes, and sometimes it will be just plain difficult to win, which is why Early Access can majorly implement, redirect or scrap the direction and functionality.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The plan is to offer a lower price during Early Access and consider an increase at full release as scope and polish improve, and the community agrees we're ready for release. Any pricing adjustments will reflect the game’s development progress.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is a core part of development. I plan to collect feedback on balance, pacing, and quality-of-life through Steam discussions, bug reports, and playtest feedback, then use that input to guide updates. The goal is to make tuning decisions based on real player experience across different skill levels and play styles.”

About This Game

Roll. Hold. Break the rules.

Roll five dice. Keep what you need. Score one category. Then turn those familiar choices into a roguelite build powerful enough to outscore five rule-changing bosses.

PentaPip starts with classic roll–hold–score strategy and builds from there. Between scorecards, spend your cash on Tricks, Runes, and Sigils. Combine their effects with bonuses and multipliers until an ordinary scorecard becomes a finely tuned scoring machine.

THE CORE LOOP

Build a winning strategy

A run spans five scorecards, giving your strategy time to grow. Clear a card, collect your payout, and visit the shop to decide what your build becomes next: buy an active tool, add a lasting rune to your setup, strengthen a promising combo, or keep your cash for the challenges ahead.

Nudge or flip a die. Copy a useful face. Reroll without spending a roll. Grow a category multiplier. Turn scoring choices into cash, then feed that cash back into your build. The strongest pickup is not always the right one: build for the scorecard in front of you and the boss awaiting you.

BUILD YOUR LOADOUT

Outscore the bosses

Every scorecard pits your final total against a boss. Each boss brings a modifier that changes how you value your dice, rolls, and scoring categories. Bosses can close categories, cut your rolls, freeze or scramble dice, tax your cash, or shut down Tricks. A comfortable strategy in one round may become a liability in the next.

The next boss is previewed before you leave the shop, giving you a chance to prepare an answer before the house tests your build. Read the rule, adapt your priorities, and score enough to advance.

THE BOSS CHANGES THE RULES

Turn small advantages into absurd scores

Early rolls are about survival. Late-game rolls are about making an entire build fire at once. Activate Tricks, exploit your Runes and Sigils, fill multiplied rows, and watch a plan assembled across several shops pay off.

LATE-GAME PAYOFF

Progress through Career Mode

Career Mode is a node-based progression system filled with new challenges and permanent unlocks. Choose your route through increasingly difficult nodes, complete escalating score targets, and face elite bosses that put your strongest strategies to the test.

Push deeper into the career map to unlock new Tricks, Sigils, Runes, Dice, and Tabletops, expanding both your strategic options and customization choices for future runs.

EXPAND YOUR ARSENAL

Same seed. Same challenge. Your decisions.

Every gameplay roll and shop offer is determined by the run seed. Replay the same challenge to refine your route, share a seed with friends, or compare scores knowing everyone started from the same conditions.

Daily runs give every player a common challenge to master. Competitive multiplayer lets players race in parallel on the same seed or face one another turn by turn on a shared scorecard.

Beat the standard five-scorecard run and you can keep pushing the build in Endless Mode.
