What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because Zoo Protocol is built around co-op gameplay, balance, and player interaction with the facility, resources, and creatures. Games like this develop best alongside the community: feedback helps us improve balance, stability, progression pacing, and understand what kind of content players actually want.

Early Access gives us the opportunity to refine the core mechanics, expand the content, and polish the multiplayer experience for a full release.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At the moment, we expect Zoo Protocol to remain in Early Access for around 12 to 18 months. The exact timeline will depend on the pace of development, the stability of the network systems, the amount of new content, community feedback, and the scope that can be supported by a solo developer.

We want to use this time to refine the core mechanics, expand the content, improve balance, and bring the co-op experience closer to the level we expect from a full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan for the full version of Zoo Protocol to offer broader content and deeper gameplay systems than the Early Access version. During Early Access, our main focus will be on developing and polishing the core mechanics. If the game resonates with the community, we would like to continue expanding it into a larger and more complete experience over time.

We plan to expand the game in several directions, including:
- new facility maps and new areas to explore;
- new monsters with unique traits and gameplay situations built around them;
additional storylines and a broader narrative layer;
- deeper systems for facility management, resources, production, and co-op interaction;
- further improvements to balance, stability, networking, and overall game quality.

Our goal is for the full version to feel like a richer, more varied, and more complete version of Zoo Protocol.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At this stage, Zoo Protocol is already a playable version with its core co-op mechanics, a functional gameplay loop, and an established lore and narrative foundation. Players can already go through the main path, encounter the key threats, and reach the boss.

At the same time, Early Access will allow us to continue polishing the game, improving balance, stability, and networking, and expanding the overall amount of content.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“No, we do not currently plan to raise the price after the game leaves Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to actively develop Zoo Protocol based on community feedback. Player opinions on balance, co-op mechanics, usability, stability, and priorities for future content are especially important to us.

We want to gather feedback through Steam, player discussions, and ongoing development updates so we can better understand which parts of the game work well and which ones need further improvement or expansion.”

About This Game

ZOO PROTOCOL

ZOO PROTOCOL is a co-op horror game with management elements for up to 5 players, where you and your crewmates operate an isolated waste-processing complex on a forgotten planet.

Work inside the complex is not a single task, but an entire system of interconnected processes.

Each shift requires constant control:

🔒 Containment of anomalous creatures

🥣 Preparation of nutritional mixtures

♻️ Processing waste into energy

🎯 Meeting production quotas

🚨 Handling emergencies and system failures

One problem leads to the next, and routine work quickly turns into a fight for survival. But the more efficiently your team performs, the deeper you advance into the complex.

Gradually, it becomes clear that you are not maintaining a simple power system, but a machine whose true purpose is far more vile than it first appeared.

FEATURES

Co-op for up to 5 players 😎🥲😗😐😏

Analog system control 🕹️
Monitor the complex, stabilize key indicators, and deal with breakdowns and emergencies through outdated panels, switches, and equipment.

Escalating pressure ☠️
Energy shortages, contamination, containment breaches, and staff mistakes gradually turn each shift into a catastrophe.

Story through progression ⁉️
Earn resources, unlock new opportunities, and reach sealed-off areas of the complex, where the true nature of what is happening is hidden.
