What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“This game is still actively being built, and Early Access lets me shape with community support. I would love player feedback to stress test balance, progression, pacing and difficulty. I want players to be part of that process and directly influence how the game evolves through future patches. Come be a part of building Riftborne!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The plan is for Early Access to last around 6 months. This may change depending on feedback and how development progresses, but the goal is to take the time needed to properly polish systems, balancing and expand features.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will focus on stronger onboarding, improved UI clarity, deeper single-player progression, better multiplayer balance, larger official servers, and continued polish based on community feedback.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Riftborne is playable as a full single player and multi player game in Early Access. You can create full simulated worlds in a sci-fi galaxy, manage and trade resources, raid enemies, raid enemy bases, build up a ship fleet to compete against strategic mining locations, fight against galactic wide campaign battles, a full Bot-controlled enemy list. The game supports long term strategic decision-making, emergent outcomes, and replayable simulations.

Host your own servers or take part on the official server!

Current Features of the game include: Full interactive HUD, complex battle simulator, list of over 200+ in game ships, procedurally generated star map world, 120 players and 6 factions. Rich in game contract system for posting jobs or working for large players, siumulated resource market, mining outposts, special resource bonuses across different star systems to discover. See the About Section for a full list of features.

At this stage, the focus is on core systems. Balance is still being tuned, and systems may evolve as feedback comes in. ”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do not plan to increase the price of the game after release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Bugs, suggestions, discussions, gameplay questions, patch notes can all be accessed via discord”

About This Game

Run a Galactic Empire From the Command Line

Begin with a single base and gradually transform it into an interstellar power.

Colonize new worlds, construct fleets, organize supply lines, manipulate markets, train spies, raid rivals and build influence across a galaxy that continues developing in real time.

Riftborne is a slow-burn sci-fi grand strategy game built around long term planning. Campaigns can unfold over days, weeks or even months. Small decisions compound over time, supply problems become military crises, minor rivals become major powers, and carefully prepared plans can reshape the galaxy.

Build More Than Fleets

A successful empire depends on more than military strength.

Manage production, storage and logistics across multiple colonies. Establish trade routes and resource shipments. Develop specialized worlds, maintain defensive networks and prepare your economy to survive prolonged wars.

Fight Through Information and Influence

Send spies to gather intelligence, sabotage rivals and expose enemy weaknesses. Hire galactic operatives, negotiate with other powers and use economic pressure when direct conflict would be too costly.

The galaxy remembers what happens within it through campaign histories, rankings, medals and long term progression.

A Living Galaxy

Enemy powers adapt to your behavior, including patterns established across previous saves.

Procedural galaxies create different strategic geography each campaign, while long running systems allow alliances, rivalries and economic dependencies to develop naturally over time.

Play Your Way

Play a solo campaign at your own pace.

Host a private server locally, online or through SSH.

Join regularly scheduled official multiplayer galaxies with factions and up to 120 commanders competing inside the same persistent universe.

Designed for Players Who Enjoy Depth

Riftborne is deliberately dense, patient and information driven.

It is made for players who enjoy learning interconnected systems, gradually building momentum and watching early decisions produce consequences much later.
