About This Game

ENTER THE DREAM. ESCAPE THE DARK.

Obscura: A Sleep Worth Dying For is a hand-drawn gothic 2D action-platformer about a sharp-witted girl trapped inside surreal worlds shaped by memory, fear, loss — and things perhaps better left forgotten.

Fight, explore and traverse seven twisted dream worlds where beauty and nightmare constantly bleed into one another.

But escaping the dream is only part of the problem.

What if waking up means facing what put you there in the first place?

FIGHT WITH PRECISION — NOT JUST POWER

Obscura fights with throwable sais, magical scepters and strange abilities that turn combat into more than simple button-mashing.

Different sais bring different tactical roles — from freezing and poisoning enemies to explosive attacks and electrical effects — while Precision Targeting lets you deliberately hunt down dangerous targets.

Scepters add another layer of magic, utility and survival.

MOVE THROUGH THE DREAM IN STRANGE WAYS

Run. Jump. Dash. Explore hidden paths.

And sometimes…

ride a giant spider up a wall.

Obscura’s movement expands throughout the journey with new abilities, companions and temporary mounts that change how you navigate the dream.

Some paths are obvious.

Others only become possible once you stop thinking like you’re awake.

A HANDCRAFTED NIGHTMARE — DRAWN ON PAPER

Obscura’s world begins outside the computer.

Characters, environments and many visual elements are drawn by hand, colored on paper and scanned into the game, creating a textured look that deliberately keeps the imperfections of traditional artwork.

No two dream worlds are meant to feel quite the same.

Ruins, forgotten streets, strange creatures, fog, moonlight and impossible places all reflect fragments of Obscura’s inner world.

YOUR CHOICES FOLLOW YOU INTO THE DREAM

Obscura’s sarcastic humor may keep the darkness at arm’s length — but beneath it lies a story about memory, grief, fear and learning to live with emotions instead of being consumed by them.

Choices made through dialogue quietly shape Obscura’s path.

There is more than one way for this dream to end.

Will she find the strength to wake up… or lose herself inside it?
