What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Sacred: Last Pixel of Ancaria is a new direction for the franchise. Different art style, different combat system, different structure. We want to make sure it feels right to the people who care about Sacred. The best way to do that is to put the game in players' hands early and build on the feedback as we go.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“The game will be in Early Access for approximately 1 year, with a goal to launch as early as 6-9 months after entering Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release will include the complete, polished game with all systems refined through Early Access, plus additional content, assets, and gameplay built specifically for launch.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The game is currently in active production, with a crowdfunding campaign planned for Q3 2026. As part of this crowdfunding campaign, there will be a "hands-off" playable demo, showing the core aesthetic, gameplay loop, and main systems (including combat, questions, and progression).”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The game will be the same price during Early Access and at full release. We may increase the price by 20-25% at launch, which would make the Early Access price an early adopter discount.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We're already talking with our community through Discord, AMAs, and features with outlets like GamesBeat. During the Kickstarter campaign, we'll add backer updates and comments to that mix. Once Early Access launches, we'll expand to Steam forums and add a dedicated Early Access channel in our Discord.”

About This Game

PLEASE FOLLOW US ON KICKSTARTER

Sacred: Last Pixel of Ancaria is as a party-based RPG set in the beloved, feudal world of Ancaria, handcrafted in 16-bit pixel art. Build a party of heroes, explore an open world on horseback, and fight through a hybrid combat system where real-time battles escalate into turn-based encounters.

The story picks up directly after the ending of the original Sacred game. The Dark Tower of the evil magician Shaddar explodes, and the T-energy explosion didn't just change Ancaria, but broke the Crown into shards: Factions battle factions, trying to grab the power of the fallen Kingdom.

Choose from a roster of playable heroes spanning the Sacred universe, each with their own archetype, story, and combat style. Recruit mercenaries and hirelings to fill your ranks, or go solo if you want - but Ancaria will not go easy on you, and death lurks in each shadow and crevasse.

The rupture of the space-time-continuum had another effect: All the heroes from Sacred and Sacred II can fight side by side, 800 years of lore apart (and they have plenty to say about it).

Fights begin in real-time. When combat intensifies, the system shifts to a turn-based mode, giving you full tactical control.

  • Ultimates - Combine four identical combat arts into one devastating ability

  • Group Combos - Chain attacks across party members for cross-hero damage

  • Archetypes, not classes - Every hero brings a unique combat approach

Ancaria is a place of grand adventure and exploration: Ride through forests, through dungeons, and deserts on horseback. The battleworn world is full of secrets, quests, and the kind of odd NPC encounters Sacred fans know and love.

And what if you do not know the Sacred universe? No problem. Sacred: The Last Pixel of Ancaria introduces new players to the changed and ruptured world.

If it drops, you pick it up - Weapons, armor, rings, amulets, and everything in between. Visible equipment means your heroes look as powerful as they are. Sacred has always been about the loot.

  • Open world exploration of the world of Ancaria with mounted travel

  • Hybrid combat that flows between real-time and turn-based

  • Party of up to 4 heroes plus mercenaries and hirelings

  • Handcrafted pixel art, every frame drawn by hand, no AI

  • Visible equipment on all characters

  • 60,000+ lines of dialogue with a "show, don't tell" philosophy

  • Sharp and dark humor, big fights, and off-path discoveries

  • Modding support with dev tools shared with the community

  • A story that closes Sacred I and II canon and opens a new chapter

Sacred: Last Pixel of Ancaria is made by SparklingBit and Enduring Games, a team of 30+ people led by Franz Stradal and the original developers of Sacred I and Sacred II. The Sacred IP is licensed from THQ Nordic.

This is an independently funded game. The community shapes the direction through open development and direct feedback.

Sacred: Last Pixel of Ancaria is being built openly, with the community involved at every step. Crowdfunding begins (Mid 2026).

A free standalone experience that gives you a real taste of the game. All core systems, the feel of Ancaria, and your progress may carry forward into the full game.

The full game begins. First act of the story, core party and combat mechanics, multiple playable heroes, open world exploration, and the loot system.

Complete story campaign, all playable heroes, full open world, PC and console releases, and additional content shaped by community feedback during Early Access.
