What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Model Kit Shop Simulator is built around a satisfying store management loop, but we want to use Early Access to refine and expand the experience with community feedback. Alongside balancing the Hobby Basket System, we plan to improve progression, pacing, and newer features such as Build Tables, where customers can assemble their kits inside the shop. Our goal is to make the game feel polished, rewarding, and distinctive within the store simulation genre.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We plan to keep the game in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. However, this may change depending on community feedback and the scope of improvements and new content added during development. Our goal is to leave Early Access only when the game feels complete and polished.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to significantly expand the game during Early Access. Planned additions for the full version include:

- Employee System for stocking shelves and handling checkout
- Assembly Models that let customers visually build kits at Build Tables
- More store customization options such as floors, walls, shelves, and decorations
- Additional model kit themes and product variety
- Economy improvements, rare model kits, and deeper progression systems
- Steam Achievements and Cloud Save support”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version already offers a playable and stable first-person store management experience. Features currently available include:

- Complete core store loop: ordering products, stocking shelves, setting prices, and serving customers
- Hobby Basket System, where customers purchase matching paints alongside their model kits
- Build Table System, where eligible customers can use Build Tables after checkout
- Multiple product themes and paint types ready to be sold
- Store expansion system for growing your shop
- Dynamic wholesale pricing and economy-driven gameplay”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, we plan to increase the price slightly after full release. We believe in rewarding early supporters who join during development with a lower entry price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We will actively gather feedback through the Steam Discussions forum and our official Discord server. We are especially interested in feedback about balance, progression, usability, and new content. We also plan to use community feedback to help shape future features, themes, and quality-of-life improvements during Early Access.”

About This Game

ABOUT THIS GAME

Model Kit Shop Simulator is a first-person store management game where every sale starts with a Model Kit.

Build and grow your own hobby shop by ordering master boxes, unpacking deliveries, stocking shelves, setting prices, and serving collectors and enthusiasts.

But running a successful model kit shop is not just about selling boxes. To maximize profits, you need to keep the right matching paints in stock, increase basket value through the Hobby Basket System, and give customers a place to bring their projects to life with the Build Table.

Core Systems

Hobby Basket System

Customers do not just buy a single kit — they start a project. When a customer picks a model kit, they may also look for the matching paints needed to complete it. If you keep those paints on your shelves, they can add them to their basket, increasing the total value of each sale. If the paints are missing, they may still buy the kit, but your basket value and profit will be lower.

Build Table System

Customers who complete the right kit-and-paint combination can pay to use a Build Table after checkout. There, they sit down, start assembling their kit, and turn a box of parts into a finished model right inside your shop. This makes your store feel more alive and adds a distinctive hobby-shop experience beyond traditional retail management.

Success depends on smart stock planning, efficient shelf management, the right product variety, and creating a store that supports both shopping and building.
