Why Early Access?

“Deep Blue Sushi combines several interconnected systems, including online co-op, ocean exploration, fishing, sushi preparation, restaurant management, progression, and character customization. Early Access allows us to improve how these systems work together with feedback from real players.

We want to use this period to refine the co-op experience, balance the progression and economy, improve usability, and better understand which parts of the game players enjoy the most before moving toward the full version.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Deep Blue Sushi to remain in Early Access for approximately 6 to 12 months. However, this timeframe may change depending on player feedback, development progress, and the amount of additional polish and content the game requires.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the game with additional ocean content, fish and sea creatures, sushi recipes, restaurant upgrades, equipment, customization options, progression systems, and quality-of-life improvements.

We also plan to continue improving multiplayer stability, balancing the economy and progression, refining existing gameplay systems, and adding more variety to both ocean exploration and restaurant management.

These plans may evolve throughout Early Access based on community feedback and development priorities.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version includes the main gameplay loop and can be played alone or in online co-op with up to five players.

Players can explore the ocean, catch fish using diving equipment and harpoons, prepare different types of sushi, serve customers, manage and expand their restaurant, upgrade equipment, customize their characters, and progress through the game.

The game is fully playable, but some systems, content, balancing, animations, user interface elements, and multiplayer features may continue to receive improvements during Early Access. Players may also encounter bugs or unfinished areas while development continues.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are not currently planning frequent price changes during Early Access. However, the price may be adjusted when the game leaves Early Access to reflect the additional content, features, and improvements added during development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback will be an important part of the development process. We plan to collect feedback through Steam Discussions, our Discord server, playtests, reviews, bug reports, and player suggestions.

We will use this feedback to identify technical issues, improve multiplayer stability, balance progression and the in-game economy, refine existing systems, and help determine which areas of the game should receive the most attention.

We also plan to share development updates and communicate openly about changes, current priorities, and the direction of the game throughout Early Access.”
