What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“DIG is built for friends digging together, and friends are the best testers. Early Access lets us tune the digging, the economy and the co-op chaos with real crews before 1.0.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“About 18 months. The roadmap may shift with community feedback.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“More layers to dig, new islands, more blueprints, products and orders, more goofballs and accessories, new tools and hazards, more world save slots - plus balance, performance and polish.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Fully playable 1-4 player online co-op: destructible dig site, 7 ores, 30 blueprints, crafting stations, orders and cargo shipping, a 4-branch skill tree, mines and gas, 8 characters with 23 accessories, emotes, voice chat, world saves and gamepad support in 22 languages.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The game will cost less during Early Access, and the price will go up as we add content toward the full release.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Through Discord, the Steam discussions and playtests: we read every piece of feedback, share the roadmap and ship regular updates with fixes and new content.”

About This Game

Dig a hole. Dig it together.

Grab a shovel, grab your friends and start digging. DIG is a cozy, chaotic online co-op game for 1-4 players where every block cracks, splits and crumbles under your tools - and the hole only gets deeper from here.

Smash & grab

Pickaxe your way through dirt, clay, sand and stone. Crack glittering ore nodes - coal, copper, iron, quartz, gold, emerald and fossils - and hoover up the loot before your friends do. The deeper you dig, the richer (and weirder) the hole gets.

Dig up drip

Pick one of 8 goofballs (each with a female variant) and dress them up with hats, noses, capes, wings, duck rings and more - all dug up from the hole itself. Mix and match at the wardrobe, then show off with 12 emotes.

Pack it. Ship it.

Take orders at the terminal, craft goods at the saw, furnace, workbench and blueprint machine, fill crates on the dock and call the cargo boat. Every delivery earns team gold and reputation for a shared skill tree.

Oops.

The hole fights back. Mines hide in the dirt, toxic gas waits below 12 m and a big fall knocks you out cold - dropping your backpack at the bottom of the hole for a friend to fetch. Gas masks and a jetpack help. Friends help more. Mostly.
