What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am developing this game as an independent developer and I want to grow it together with the player community.

Early Access allows players to join the project at an early stage, share feedback, help identify issues and suggest ideas that can help shape the future of the game.

It is important for me to improve the game step by step based on player experience and feedback. Early Access is an opportunity to develop the project together with the community and gradually improve the overall gameplay experience.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“At the moment the estimated Early Access period is about one year.

However this timeline may change depending on development progress, player feedback and the overall growth of the project. The main goal is to reach a stable and polished version 1.0 rather than rushing to a full release.

Even after leaving Early Access the game may continue to receive updates and new content.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access the game will continue to expand and improve.

Planned additions may include

- more products and new product categories
- additional decoration options and shop expansions
- new shop management mechanics
- expansion of the in game universe and its content
- improvements to interface, balance and performance

As development progresses the game is expected to become deeper and richer in content.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“At the time of entering Early Access the game already includes the core shop management mechanics.

Current features include

- running and managing your own store
- buying products and filling shelves
- selling games, movies and collectible items
- expanding and upgrading your shop
- decorating the store with themed areas and decorations
- interacting with customers

The core gameplay loop is already functional and fully playable. Future updates will gradually add new content and improve existing systems.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes. The price will increase over time as new content, features, and store expansions are added. Early supporters will get the game at a lower price.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Communication with the community plays an important role in the development of the project.

I plan to interact with players through

- Discord
- Steam forums
- player discussions and reviews

Players will be able to share ideas, report bugs and participate in discussions about future updates.

I also plan to gradually translate the game into multiple languages to make it accessible to a wider international Steam community. The first priority will be localization for the most widely used Steam languages. If time and resources allow and if there is enough player interest I will try to expand language support further.

It is important to keep in mind that the game is currently being developed by a single developer, so new languages and features will be added gradually over time.”

About This Game

Open For Business is an entertainment store management simulator where you build and grow your own shop selling games, movies, and collectible items.

But this is more than just a store.

It’s a place where memories, nostalgia, and entertainment culture come together, inspired by different eras of video games and cinema — from cartridges and VHS tapes to modern consoles and collectible figures.

Many products will remind players of the most iconic games, movies, and characters, evoking familiar emotions and memories.

Everything takes place in an alternative universe filled with its own games, movies, characters, and franchises. Every product is part of a larger world that gradually unfolds as your store grows.

Build Your Store

Start with a small shop and gradually turn it into a true entertainment destination.

Place shelves, checkout counters, massive collectible statues, posters, and much more. Create a space that customers will want to come back to.

Sell Games, Movies, and Collectibles

Fill your shelves with products from different eras of entertainment — from the 90s to the present day.

VHS tapes, DVDs, movies and cartoons, CD games, cartridges, gaming consoles, collectible figurines, and much more.

All products are connected and belong to one large entertainment universe.

Manage Your Store and Customers

Grow your store, purchase licenses for new products, unlock new shelves, and increase your store level.

You can manage everything yourself or hire employees to help run the business.

Create the Atmosphere

Decorate your store with posters, themed areas, and massive collectible figures.

The more interesting and unique your store looks, the more customers it will attract.

Expand Your Business

Expand your store, unlock new products, and turn a small local shop into a true entertainment hub.
