What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“We chose Early Access because we want to develop UrbexCAM together with the community while continuing to expand the game. Our current focus is refining the core single-player experience, while we plan to add additional systems such as the Map Editor, daily and weekly quests, Steam Items, Steam Stats, and other gameplay improvements. We also intend to explore multiplayer support as part of our long-term vision for version 1.0.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect UrbexCAM to remain in Early Access for around one year, although this may change depending on development progress and community feedback. Our goal is to leave Early Access when we're satisfied with the overall quality and feature set rather than on a fixed date.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“We plan to expand the game with a fully customizable map system through the Steam Map Editor, support for custom items and modding, additional gameplay systems, and ongoing quality improvements. Throughout Early Access, we also intend to release regular updates based on player feedback to continue improving the overall experience.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access version already contains the core gameplay experience and many of the features planned for the full release. Players can explore, complete investigations, and experience the main gameplay loop while we continue improving performance, polishing existing systems, and adding new content throughout development.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We are not currently planning to change the game's price when it leaves Early Access. However, those plans may change depending on how the project evolves over time. Our goal is to offer good value for players throughout development.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Community feedback is an important part of UrbexCAM's development. Players can share suggestions, report bugs, and discuss ideas through our Twitch streams, YouTube and TikTok development updates, Steam Community discussions, and other social platforms. We regularly review community feedback and, when ideas fit the game's vision and development scope, we plan to incorporate them into future updates.”

About This Game

UrbexCAM is a first-person horror exploration game where you and your friends break into eerie, abandoned locations - whether it’s a crumbling house, a shutdown mall, or a forgotten factory - to dig up the dark secrets behind why they were left behind. Each place has its own disturbing story, and it’s up to you to piece together the truth. But you’ll need to be careful - this isn’t just some casual walk in the dark. Try to stay silent and out of sight, because these places are rigged with hidden security cameras, motion sensors, traps, and alarms. One wrong move could alert the cops - or something even worse.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

The game uses a built-in AI model called SentenceTransformer to analyze the player's written exploration summary at the end of a gameplay session. The AI helps evaluate what the player explored and determines XP and in-game money rewards. The AI model runs entirely locally on the player's device. No user data is transmitted to external servers, no data is shared with third parties, and no AI training or fine-tuning is performed using player data.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

This game may contain depictions of deceased individuals, including victims of accidents, overdoses, or other tragic events found in abandoned locations. Players may encounter unsettling scenes and environmental storytelling involving death, decay, and themes of substance abuse. No explicit gore, dismemberment, or sexual content is present.
