What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Evolve is built around deeply connected systems. From survival, weather and seasons to wildlife, farming and world simulation. Early Access lets me develop and balance these systems alongside players, using real feedback to shape priorities, improve the experience and ensure each new feature strengthens the world as a whole.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Expected to be in early access for 2 years.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version is planned to expand the Early Access foundation with deeper survival and crafting progression, more prehistoric wildlife, biomes, resources, building options. We also expect broader multiplayer features, improved mod support, further optimization and substantial polish informed by community feedback. The core sandbox experience will remain the same.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access release will begin with the Stone Age: gathering natural resources, knapping stone tools, making fire, hunting, farming, building shelters and surviving changing weather and seasons. It will provide the complete foundation of the survival sandbox, with content, balance, performance and supporting systems expanded throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Unknown at this time.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We plan to use Discord as the main place for development updates, player feedback and community discussion. Players will be able to report issues, share ideas and discuss balance, usability and new features. This feedback will help us identify priorities and refine the game throughout Early Access.”

About This Game

History remembers only the bones.

Long before recorded history, humans lived beneath giants. Dinosaurs ruled the land, while scattered tribes fought simply to survive.

Now those tribes are disappearing. Their settlements have fallen, their stories have been lost, and every trace of humanity is slowly being erased.

You are one of the last survivors.

Begin with nothing. Shape stone into tools, master fire, find food and build shelter in a prehistoric world that never stops changing. Survive long enough to leave proof that humanity was here before the world forgets.

Evolve: First Age is a hardcore prehistoric survival sandbox set in a persistent, fully destructible voxel world. There are no quests, classes or prescribed paths. What happens next is determined by the choices you make, the things you build and how long you manage to survive.

Start with Stone

Gather sticks and loose rock, then knap your first primitive tools. Search for food, make fire and build shelter before darkness and cold set in.

Progress comes through practical knowledge, physical conditioning and better equipment. Everything you achieve begins with what you can gather, carry and make with your own hands.

Survive a Living World

The world reacts to what happens within it. Trees fall when cut. Water flows into newly opened spaces. Rain soaks exposed ground, buildings and players. Snow settles across the landscape as temperatures fall.

Structures need support. Remove the wrong block and part of a building, or perhaps the whole thing, can collapse.

Your actions leave permanent changes behind.

Prepare for Every Season

The seasons affect almost every part of survival. Plant and harvest while the land is productive, gather resources while the weather allows it and preserve enough food to survive the colder months.

Winter will test everything you have built. A poor harvest, an unfinished shelter or a journey taken too late could leave you without the supplies needed to survive.

Shape the Land

Dig into hillsides, redirect water and build freely using natural materials such as mud, wood, stone and thatch.

Turn a simple shelter into a home. Establish farms, store supplies and expand your camp into a settlement capable of supporting an entire tribe.

The land can be reshaped, but everything must still be gathered and built piece by piece.

Hunt or Be Hunted

Prehistoric animals are part of the ecosystem, not decorations placed around the world. Herds move and flee together. Predators respond to threats, compete for food and turn every journey into a risk.

Study their behaviour, prepare carefully and choose your battles. A successful hunt could feed you for days. A careless one could make you the prey.

Survive Alone or Form a Tribe

Face the world alone or survive alongside other players in a persistent, server authoritative world.

Form tribes, claim territory, share resources and protect what you have built. Work together to create a homeland strong enough to endure the seasons and survive the creatures beyond its walls.

There is no chosen hero. There is no prophecy and no guaranteed future.

There is only the world, what you can build with your hands and the evidence you leave behind.

Build. Hunt. Learn.

Prove humanity was here.
