What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“I am building this game entirely solo, and getting the core survival loop into your hands early is the best way to figure out what actually works! I need real people playing the game, breaking things, and telling me what scares them before I start building the deeper, much darker levels of the facility.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Roughly 8 to 12 months. It honestly depends on the community. If you guys want me to expand the scope and add way more underground levels or quests, it might take a bit longer! :)”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Right now, the focus is on the core extraction loop. For the 1.0 release, the plan is to add more hazardous shafts, new puzzles to fix the generators, new environmental obstacles, and the actual final endings to the descent.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core loop is fully playable! You can spawn in the hub, drop into the randomized maze...dodge the threats...scavenge for parts...and survive the first few levels. As it is just me working on this, you will definitely run into some bugs or weird difficulty spikes, but the main game is completely playable.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“Yes, the price will increase slightly when the 1.0 version launches. The plan is to keep it cheap during Early Access. As the game becomes bigger, the final price will reflect the added content.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As a solo developer, your feedback is crucial! I will be actively checking the Steam Discussion boards. If a mechanic is annoying, or a bug is ruining your run, I want to hear about it there so I can push a patch. Your experiences in the dark will directly shape what I build for the lower floors.”

About This Game

Nobody knows how deep Shaft 29 goes...The grid is dead and the air is thick with fog...You are completely alone in the dark. You only remember one directive: get the generator running and keep moving down..

Navigate the Blackout: Every floor is a dark labyrinth. Step out of your secure place into the mist, relying on your flashlight to navigate a procedurally generated maze. Your first objective is always the same: locate the dead generator somewhere in the dark.

Scavenge and Rebuild: The generator is broken. To restore the power you have to explore surrounding rooms, checking shelves, searching under tables, and dark corners for broken scrap. Carry these fragments back to the safe place to get them repaired, and then brave the maze again to install them.

Brave the Anomalies: Standard scrap is not enough for the final ignition... To start the generator, you must find and enter the Anomalies. These are impossible, surreal spaces hidden deep within the facility - like [DATA CORRUPTED]. They hold critical Modules...But be cautious - stepping inside comes with unpredictable risk...

Key Features:

  • The Maze Shifts: The layout is procedurally generated. You can't rely on memory to navigate the dark.

  • Scavenge to Survive: Search shelves, dark corners, and underneath tables to find the exact broken components you need.

  • Your Only Refuge: The Hub is the only safe place. Use it to repair scrap, catch your breath, and brace yourself for the next run.

  • Hand-Crafted Dread: A raw, low-poly liminal art style that relies on heavy volumetric fog and pitch-black shadows to keep you on edge.
