«My goal is to create a game that can support high-level competitive play, and Early Access will be how I gather precise feedback for what works and what doesn't before the standards for high-level play become too ingrained to change.»

«As long as it takes to complete my roadmap and fix bugs, which will likely take somewhere between 1-2 years. I'm working on this game solely in my free time, so please be patient.»

«The current version contains most major offline features planned for the full release (except for everything that will come with the level editor) along with five official maps to play.»

«The game itself will remain free forever, but due to the costs associated with hosting leaderboards and replays alongside those leaderboards, access to the leaderboards must come with a paid DLC. I also have plans to release at least one "expansion" after the game's full release, which (depending on a variety of factors in the future that I couldn't possibly predict) may also release as paid DLC.»

«As stated before, the purpose of doing an Early Access launch is to make changes that will disrupt high-level play before the game mechanics become too set in stone to change, and the direction I take with those changes will be influenced by player feedback. Blast Processed is a first-person platformer built around an infamous movement quirk of early FPS games: Rocket Jumping.

Key Features:

  • Movement mechanics inspired by the full suite of Source Engine movement gamemodes like Surf and BHop. Enhancements have been made to key aspects of movement to be more welcoming for new players while not compromising on the depth of high-level play.
  • Consistent, fully deterministic gameplay where specific inputs consistently return the same results, allowing for pure tests of skill where the player is in full control of their character at all times.
  • Five official maps with level design inspired by Team Fortress 2's community-made jump maps.
  • Visuals inspired by the early 3D PC games of the late 90s and early 2000s, designed to never infringe on the readability of the environments.
  • A full replay system which saves your best times on maps to watch back or race against as a ghost.

NOTE:

This game is hard. While the mechanics of rocket jumping and advanced movement mechanics are tutorialized, it is highly recommended that you at minimum have an understanding of first-person movement mechanics and controls before playing.
