What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Sub Rosa is an online multiplayer FPS with a focus on orchestrating deals and coordinating a team of players to increase wealth and status in the game. This requires a great deal of iteration and testing with how a growing numbers of players understand and react to the possibilities laid out before them in Sub Rosa. Early Access gives an opportunity to tinker with many facets of the game and receive feedback on those changes in an attempt to better the experience for everyone.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Sub Rosa is currently in alpha and in a 'hidden' Early Access phase to limit the player count as changes are made for testing with a small community.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Sub Rosa will include several game modes in addition to the round-based mode, more customizable characters, an increase in weapons/items/vehicles available to players and refined visuals, sound design, and user interface.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current version of Sub Rosa is in an alpha state with work-in-progress visuals, sound design, and user interface.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There is no current plan to change the price from Early Access to the full version but scope and size of the game may change that plan.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“The Sub Rosa community is encourage to offer suggestions and feedback via the Steam forums and the development team will be an active participation in play testing with Early Access users to observe how players interact and any issues that arise during the game.”

Versus Mode and Recruitment Drive

Team Memo 7.11.19
The following correspondence is from the Sub Rosa Middle Management and is intended for current employees only.

Versus Mode
Our newest mode continues to receive small fixes that should provide a smoother gameplay experience. Some of these fixes will apply to other game modes as well. Continue to snipe rivals as they awkwardly slide down.

Recruitment Test
Sub Rosa will be 11% off from July 12 - July 19 off. Please advise any potential employees.

New Audio System
An entirely new audio system is being worked on for the game, which should improve such things as positional sound and implementation of new audio effects.

Game Improvements
In preparing for the next update, many aspects of the game are in the process of adjustment. Car handling and better interaction/collision with map assets are among those currently in focus.

Art Updates
Future game updates will soon see the implementation of interior art assets, with the current priority focused toward finishing and adding polish to the exterior buildings of the city map.

Physics Adjustments
Sub Rosa is a physics-based game at its core. As such, physics adjustments are a big part of the game’s development, and are ongoing. Currently we are looking at making player movement feel less “floaty”, and testing out more fine tuning of vehicles.

Multiple corporations vie for money and power by taking control of different colored disks through clean trades or bloody acquisitions. Both cash and disks are immensely valuable and allow players to purchase guns, cars, equipment, and even stock in their own company’s success from day to day. Smooth transactions and smart business practices with others can eventually lead to riches while a quick trigger and a steady aim can get you there faster as long as you're the one still standing.
