What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Milo’s core experience is built around an unusual chain of systems: horde combat, corpse-feeding rats, popping corpses, and an independent arcade extraction loop. Early Access lets me tune the pacing, economy, multiplayer clarity, and long-run difficulty of that cycle with real players while continuing to expand the game responsibly.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“I currently expect Milo to remain in Early Access for approximately two years. That estimate may change depending on player feedback, development needs, and the level of quality required for the full release.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“I plan to expand Milo with additional maps, weapons, enemy types, Wave Rules, arcade content, rat customization, progression systems, accessibility options, localization, and continued visual and performance improvements. The core identity (surviving Milo’s cruel game, rescuing rats, and moving between the battlefield and arcade) will remain the foundation.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The Early Access launch version is planned to include the complete survival loop, solo play and supported co-op modes, three classes, twelve weapons, rat feeding and collection, the Traang Arcade, the Cream Machine, special wave rules like Kill in Order, and leaderboards. Balance, onboarding, content breadth, accessibility, localization, and performance will continue to develop throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“I do plan to raise the price when leaving Early Access, and possibly for DLC expansions.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can share bug reports, balance feedback, and suggestions through Steam Discussions and the official Milo Discord. I plan to use that feedback to improve combat clarity, multiplayer pacing, economy balance, difficulty scaling, and the arcade cycle, while publishing regular development updates so players can see what is changing and why.”
