Reviews

“A Metroid Prime with no combat, thoughtful puzzles and an interesting story? Hook it into my veins. I played Memory’s Reach on Friday and it remained my game of PAX for the remainder of the show.”

“For those that love the Metroid style of slowly expanding a map and doubling back with upgraded abilities, Memory’s Reach can scratch that itch. It’s also got some of the most striking 3D visuals of any game at the show.”

Plays great on Steam Deck

Steam Deck is fully supported, including such features as:

  • Custom default settings for a pre-tuned experienced the first time you jump in.

  • UI and font scaling to read better on the smaller screen.

  • A collection of custom tweaks that include things like increased zoom on puzzles so they fill more of the screen. Toggleable using the "Handheld Mode" setting.

Plays Great With Gamepads

Playing with a gamepad is the ideal way to experience Memory's Reach, and the game fully supports a wide range of Xbox, PlayStation, and Switch Pro gamepads. And if you're a PC purist keyboard and mouse is of course fully supported as well.

About This Demo

Explore labyrinthian megastructures, solve mind-bending puzzles, and wield fantastic alien technology in a puzzling metroidvania adventure.

The Memory's Reach Demo provides over two hours of gameplay and features puzzles, lore, and hidden secrets from select areas throughout the full game.

The demo begins at the start of the game with the opening introduction sequence, a journey through the hub area, and then proceeds into the first major level. Afterwards it diverges from the main game to include secrets, abilities, and hidden areas from later in the game to give a peek at what's to come.

An Ancient Treasure on a Long-lost Planet

Armed with nothing more than old star charts and dubious rumors, travel to the long-lost planet Virishal. Explore a world of towering megastructures and overgrown ruins - a civilization wiped out in a great cataclysm. Its monuments now reclaimed by steaming jungles, buried in crumbling mineshafts, and falling to ruin in slowly decaying orbits.

Somewhere on this world is hidden the ancient treasure of the Mairi, sealed away eons ago to protect it from the great cataclysm. Explore Virishal and locate the treasure - but beware what other perilous secrets lie sleeping beneath the planet's surface!

Discover Powerful New Abilities

Adventure to serene floating cities, immense underground structures, and perilous orbital space stations. The world slowly expands as you solve puzzles and acquire powerful new abilities. Use your powers to open pathways through previously inaccessible areas, overcome once insurmountable obstacles, reveal hidden secrets, and solve new kinds of puzzles.

Solve Arcane Puzzles

Colossal machines begin to wake as you solve challenging holo-puzzles and take command of powerful alien technology. Shifting walls, energy beams, and other bizarre mechanisms form massive, interconnected puzzle rooms - use all of the tools at your disposal to solve intricate puzzles that will put your logical and spatial reasoning skills to the test.

Reveal A Cosmic Legacy

Aeons ago a cataclysmic event brought an end to an advanced civilization. Centuries later rumours of an ancient treasure draw you, an interstellar treasure hunter, in search of their desolate world. Scan the environment for lore, locate hidden relics, and piece together scattered data fragments to uncover the devastating history of an extinct people, and reveal the legacy of a doomed civilization!
