Why Early Access?

“The game is fully playable, and the core gameplay is complete, but additional features, such as combat and exploration, are still being developed and refined.
These are optional features that players aren't required to engage with, but should still be fully polished for those that do.

Dreadwinter aims to allow players to play and progress the game in different ways, from fast to slow, with the goal of all of them being equally viable.
Early Access gives an opportunity to collect feedback and make adjustments, so that the game, and all methods of playing it, are a satisfying experience!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Approximately 6 months - 1 year, with regular content updates during the Early Access period.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Dreadwinter will additionally contain:
- 5 explorable dungeons (with 2 currently playable)
- A third story route based on adventuring
- New locations to visit: An aquarium, and a hidden monster village
- 4 new romanceable NPCs
- Date activities and expanded romance
- Additional customization options for the player and café
And more based on player feedback

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Players will be able to:
- Run, customize, and develop a fantasy café
- Open for business during the day and/or at night, with the supernatural visiting when it's dark!
- Unlock and use various methods of making coffee and desserts, such as using machines, a cauldron, and even getting mechanical demon servants to do the work for you!
- Experience 2 different storylines based on how you run your business
- Upgrade your skills through multiple skill trees centered around different playstyles, each unlocking new ways to play!
- Bond with 6 regular customers, each with their own personal storyline
- Get to know a town full of interesting and quirky people, with 14 romanceable NPCs
- Repair a farm and grow your own coffee beans
- Become an Adventurer, explore 2 dungeons and engage in turn-based combat”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There will be a slight increase for the full release, to reflect the added content throughout the Early Access period. Anyone that has acquired the game during the Early Access period will receive the full version at no additional cost.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can give feedback through the Steam Community Hub, Discord, and any other means of communication, and they're encouraged to do so!

Player feedback is important during the Early Access period, as with many different ways of playing, there will likely be gameplay and balance changes to be made, that I can't identify alone!”
