About This Game

Alchedoom is a first-person alchemy roguelite. You wake up locked in a dark lord's alchemy chamber, where elixirs are your daily tribute. Pick them up, add ingredients and work the fire. Watch a humble pill grow more valuable with every firing—then decide whether to take it out or risk one more.

Enter Trance. Keep the fire going.

Fill your Focus and the next firing triggers Trance. Make those few seconds count: fire again and again as your elixir climbs in tier and value. Trance prevents Ruin, but not Damage. Outside it, keep a close eye on the odds above the cauldron. The next firing could pay off—or knock your prized elixir down a tier, or destroy it altogether.

One pill, four paths

Origin, Herbal, Beast and Exotic: four paths produce very different elixirs. Choose a catalyst, then refine one firing at a time. Leaves, beastly forms and strange objects change with each tier, each with its own trails of light. Once you're done, pick up your creation and turn it around. See what this batch has become.

Open the chest. Pick it up. Put it in.

Open the Treasure Chest, turn it around and take the catalysts, talismans and powders you need from its compartments. Drop them into the cauldron yourself. A Warding Talisman saves an elixir from Ruin once; Spirit-Gathering Powder improves your chance of Great Success; catalysts determine its growth path. Everything has a use, and everything runs out. Leave something for the next batch.

Trade a good elixir for a better build

Feed an elixir into the Exchange to buy a Relic, then place it on your rack to activate it. Some add Success lots. Others restore Focus on a Hold, or strengthen Trance. Put a few compatible effects together and your approach to refining changes. Just remember: the good elixir you traded away could also have paid part of your tribute.

A different flame, a different way to refine

Take a spirit flame from its rack, place it beneath the cauldron and watch it climb around the bowl. Crimson Cloud, Frostsoul and Jadefire each burn differently and bring different effects. Your choice depends on the elixir in your hand and the Relics on your rack. Find a flame that suits you, then build around it.

Ring the bell. Survive today.

Set your finished elixirs on the tribute table, ring the bell and wait for the huge hand behind the bars to collect today's work. Pay enough to see another day—but the demand keeps rising. How many elixirs to keep, whether to buy a Relic, when to stop refining: it all has to add up when tribute comes due.

Have you refined an elixir today?
