Why Early Access?

“We designed Trash Goblin for Early Access from the ground up - the game is fundamentally about systems and player expression so we believe every element in the game will benefit from ongoing feedback, from the price of a trinket to how many clicks it takes to break a block.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are announcing the 1.0 launch date soon - the final update for the Early Access version is Stock N Trade, while development & continued significant updates to Trash Goblin will continue through 2025 and beyond.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version of Trash Goblin will contain a more polished and complete set of features and content when compared to the Early Access version.

Compared to the game's content and features as of the Stock N Trade update, the 1.0 will contain the following additional content:

• District Travel - set up your shop as a pop-up in 2 more districts, and make the most of a queue of excited customers!
  
• 10hrs+ of Story - this will more than double the linear content, and sees you help out those nearest and dearest to you, while getting embroiled in some... unexpected shenanigans
  
• Trinket request system - allowing you to 'mail order' any trinkets you need, at a price
  
• City Map & calendar - see when you can run your popup, and choose where!
  
• Trinketpedia - keep track of every trinket in the game, and wether or not you've found them, and if you've cleaned, upcycled and sold them.
  
• Delver License System - help Aunty delve deeper into the Chasm for even more rare and interesting trinkets.
  
• Dismissal and Summoning of Named Customers - don't want to deal with the story beat right now? Awkward request spoiling your fun? Put it off for as long as you like.
  
• More Cosmetic Options - themed sets and more ways to customise your space
  
• Achievements - at least 10 achievements
  
• Cost, Price and Randomness Rebalance - we're constantly working to make the game feel fair and generous.
  
• Tons of new trinkets - the more the merrier, at least 100 total by 1.0 launch, and hoping for more.

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Trash Goblin in Early Access already has endless hours of gameplay, customers and 80 trinkets to play with. But we want to add so much more including key characters, trinkets, narrative, sidequests and systems.

We have been actively working on the game for about 2 years and we want this Early Access version of Trash Goblin to contain as much gameplay as possible so that you can have a ton of fun immediately, yet not so much that it's too late in development for us to act on the feedback we receive. We consider the content in the Early Access version of Trash Goblin to be of an almost-finished quality and intend to expand that content during Early Access.

We've updated the game multiple times since EA launch, with huge new gameplay additions and mechanics, plus more trinkets and characters.

Various interface elements are still a work-in-progress, along with various other aspects of the presentation - and there are a few accessibility and quality-of-life features that we intend to add over time too, including widely-asked for features like ultra-widescreen support, localisation into multiple languages beyond English, and more.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We intend to raise the retail price for the launch of the full version - to align with the value placed on the game during its successful Kickstarter, and also to reflect the huge increase in content and quality compared to the Early Access version.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Much like with the Early Access development of Tango Fiesta, we will be actively monitoring feedback from our community as we continue building and improving every single bit of Trash Goblin.

Our official Discord server is linked in the game's main menu and offers a friendly place to leave feedback via the ticketing system and general conversation with the devs. We also regularly check feedback in our Steam forums plus of course wherever else we can find people talking about the game. We expect to keep making many changes and improvements inspired by our player community!

At some point after Early Access we will be introducing a Reporting feature that will allow players to report bugs and suggestions directly from the game, further taking advantage of our amazing community.
