Why Early Access?

“As an indie dev, it's very helpful to hear feedback and support from the people who are playing Catch The Fox so I can keep adding improvements and refining the gameplay. Together we can design a great game that everyone can enjoy!”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Catch The Fox will be in early access until the community is happy! This may include the addition of new game modes, level redesigns, new powerups, and whatever else will improve the game based on community feedback. 2-6 months is probably a good estimate, but it is difficult to say until the early access development cycle gets underway and the scope of the game is more clearly defined.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full version will likely include the addition of an alternate gameplay mode, additional ruin powerups, graphical tweaks, map redesigns or improvements, and any possible improvements to framerate and fluidity of the user experience.

There are also plans to add steam achievements, steam cloud saves, and full Steam Deck support as there is already a working linux version.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Currently everything in the game description is functional and works great. It's a fully playable game with 9 levels and a 3 types of ruins, and a functional menu. It can be played through and completed in a few hours. You can play each map as long as you like to get a high score too, which gets more difficult as the foxes go faster and faster. There aren't many bugs thankfully, so we are looking to the community mainly for feature suggestions and improvements to make the game more fun and interesting.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“The price is set very low to encourage participation for early access, so the price will likely increase when the full version is ready.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“As Catch The Fox develops and improves, the community will be able to give feedback on steam to steer the direction of development to make the game more fun!”
