What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Rolling Blunder is already fully playable, but we believe a physics-based multiplayer game benefits greatly from real player feedback. Early Access gives us the opportunity to improve balancing, game modes, online gameplay and the overall experience based on how players actually play the game.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We currently expect Rolling Blunder to remain in Early Access for roughly 6–12 months. This is an estimate and may change depending on player feedback, development progress, and the scope of features we decide to add during Early Access.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“During Early Access, we plan to expand and refine the game with additional content and improvements based on player feedback. This may include new gameplay content, further improvements to existing game modes and mechanics, balancing changes, quality-of-life features, and continued technical and visual polish.

Our plans may evolve during development as we learn what players enjoy most.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The core Rolling Blunder experience is already playable. Players can race downhill in physics-based multiplayer matches, collide with and knock around other players, use items, and play a variety of different game modes.

The game is still in active development, so some content, balancing, user interface elements, online systems, performance and general polish may change or improve throughout Early Access.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We plan to gradually increase the price as Rolling Blunder receives additional content, features, and polish during Early Access. The exact timing and amount of any price changes have not yet been decided.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Player feedback will be an important part of Early Access development. We plan to pay close attention to feedback, bug reports, balancing suggestions and how players interact with the different game modes and mechanics.

We want to use that feedback to help determine which parts of Rolling Blunder need the most improvement and which ideas are worth expanding as development continues.”

About This Game

GRAVITY DOES THE DRIVING

There's no engine in these karts. The hill does the accelerating, so the only question is how much speed you're willing to keep when the next corner shows up.

You can drift them, and it feels great when it works. It also goes wrong a lot. The back end steps out, the kart spins, and quite often the driver keeps going without it. Getting thrown out isn't a game over. You get up, walk back and hop in again.

A normal race is only one of the eight game modes.

In Avalanche a giant boulder comes down the road behind the whole field, and it doesn't slow down for corners. In Trick Run the finish line matters a lot less than your score, so you spend the way down drifting, jumping and collecting points for anything that looks impressive. In Chained Together you're physically attached to another player, which means their mistakes are now your mistakes too. More game modes are coming soon.

Turn items on and the racing gets a lot less honest. Oil slicks, a sack of flour in the face, a wall dropped across the road, a goat. An actual goat.

There are also 25 mutators you can switch on before the race, like low gravity, inverted steering, bouncy karts or helium voices. And if you can't decide, there's Chaos mode, which throws a random mutator into the race every 30 seconds until nobody has any idea what's happening anymore.

If you're going to be launched off a mountain, look good doing it.

Paint your kart panel by panel, cover it in stickers, write whatever suits you best, and bolt on accessories that won't survive the first corner. Your driver gets the same treatment, so everyone knows exactly who just took them out.
