“We launched GeneRally 2 into Early Access to gather community feedback and develop the game alongside the players, in accordance with their hopes and wishes! We've received so much great feedback during the Early Access period.”

“We are approaching the end of our Early Access period now! We hope to be out of Early Access before the end of 2025 - all being well.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“Now that we've released Online Multiplayer, we have finished all of the major developments we had planned for the Early Access period. We still have some smaller things to add, fix and improve, but by-and-large the game will not change significantly between now and when we exit Early Access.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“The current Early Access version represents the intended full version of the game quite closely. You can race alone, against the AI drivers, in local multiplayer or online multiplayer, and you can create and share tracks. All of the fundamental features are in-place and largely working as intended.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“We do not plan to change the price of the game when we leave Early Access.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“We are always happy to hear suggestions from the GeneRally community! We have a Discord server in which we actively participate in discussion about the game and its future. We regularly gather feedback from the Steam discussion forums and posts on social media about the game and its direction, too.”

About This Game

GeneRally 2 is a friendly top-down arcade racing game - with an easy-to-use, built-in track editor. GeneRally 2 is the sequel to the 2002 classic, GeneRally - one of the most played arcade racing games of all time! Have fun racing alone against the AI; with your friends in "no split-screen necessary" couch PvP; online with players from around the world; or try your hand at creating tracks and sharing them with the community!

GeneRally 2 is on the home stretch of Early Access - and will soon be reaching v1.0.

Features

  • Top-down arcade racing game fun! The gameplay is easy to pick up, but with plenty of room for mastery.

  • Race online or offline - with friends, or against the AI! With online multiplayer, you can race with GeneRally 2 players from all over the world - but you can also gather up to 7 friends and play in no-splitscreen-necessary couch co-op!

  • 9 unique cars. Rally, Single-Seater, Monster Truck, GT - you name it! Each car has its own performance characteristics and unique handling model. And more cars are being added on a regular basis!

  • Over 700 tracks (and counting)... Our community has produced over 700 tracks to date, and more are being created every day and uploaded to Steam Workshop. If that's not enough, create your own tracks, or import and race any of the tens of thousands that were created for GeneRally 1!

  • Build your own tracks. Using our built-in track editor, making the racing circuits of your dreams couldn't be easier! No special knowledge required. Join our track-making community and share your creations with the world.
