Leaving Early Access: Q3 2027

What the developers have to say:

Why Early Access?

“Territory is being developed by a solo developer. Early Access gives players the opportunity to explore the game while helping shape its development through feedback and playtesting.

The core survival experience is already playable. My focus is on refining that experience, developing the story and progression, and improving performance, stability and multiplayer reliability. Feedback from real players helps identify what works, what needs attention and where improvements will make the biggest difference.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“We are currently targeting a full release in Q4 2027. Our focus is on refining the core survival experience, developing the story and progression, and improving performance, stability and multiplayer reliability.

This is an estimate rather than a fixed deadline and may change based on testing and player feedback. Any significant changes to this target will be communicated through Steam announcements.”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“For the full version, we plan to develop the main storyline and progression further, refine survival and crafting balance, improve enemy encounters and base defence, and give players more reasons to explore the island.

We also intend to improve the interface, onboarding, performance and multiplayer reliability. The priority is a cohesive, polished survival experience rather than continually expanding the scope with unrelated features.

The exact content and scope may evolve during development. Please purchase Territory based on the features available today, rather than expectations of specific future additions.”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“Territory currently offers a playable open-world survival experience with offline single-player, player-hosted multiplayer through Steam, and persistent dedicated servers.

Players can explore the island on foot or by vehicle, scavenge supplies, gather resources, craft equipment, grow crops, cook food, and build and fortify a base. NPC traders offer opportunities to buy and sell supplies and undertake jobs. Armed enemies, hostile wildlife, enemy camps and supply drops provide additional risks and rewards.

The game supports first-person and third-person perspectives, with skills, progression and the opening stages of the Behind Enemy Lines storyline.

Official dedicated servers are available across four regions. Each server maintains its own saved world and character progress. Sleeping official servers can be started through the in-game server browser, allowing players to return without needing another player to host.

The game is playable but unfinished. Bugs, balance issues and performance problems may occur, and story content and some progression features are still being developed.”

Will the game be priced differently during and after Early Access?

“There are currently no plans to change the base price when Territory leaves Early Access. If those plans change, any price adjustment will be communicated in advance.”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Players can share bug reports, suggestions and feedback through the Territory Steam discussions and the Threat Vector Discord community.

Feedback from playtesting helps guide priorities, balance changes and usability improvements. Suggestions are considered alongside technical feasibility and the overall vision for the game. Community polls may also be used when broader input would be helpful.

Development news and patch notes will be shared through Steam announcements, with gameplay and playtest videos available on the official Territory YouTube channel.

Taking part in feedback and testing is entirely optional, you are welcome simply to play and enjoy the game.”

About This Game

Left behind. Not finished.

Your squad is gone. Your radio is dead. The island is enemy ground.

Territory is an atmospheric, open-world survival game about building a foothold where you were never meant to stay. Search for supplies, equip yourself and uncover clues to what happened while fighting to survive another day.

Build somewhere worth defending

Gather resources, craft tools and weapons, grow crops and cook your supplies. Turn a makeshift shelter into a fortified base with workshops, storage and somewhere to return after your next expedition.

The more you establish yourself, the more you have to protect. Prepare for hostile wildlife, armed enemies and AI raids against your base.

Every supply run is a risk

Explore forests, towns, farms and guarded military sites on foot or by vehicle. Search abandoned buildings, raid enemy camps and take your chances at supply drops.

Choose when to fight and when to stay out of sight. Enemies respond to what they see and hear—use vegetation, cover and quieter movement to your advantage.

Trade, learn and uncover the story

Find local and travelling NPC traders to sell your loot, buy equipment and take on jobs. Develop practical skills through the activities you perform, improve your equipment and prepare for more dangerous territory.

Follow the developing Behind Enemy Lines storyline, discover clues and investigate the island’s secrets alongside your own survival goals.

Survive alone or together

Play offline in your own single-player world, host a Steam multiplayer session with friends, or join an official persistent dedicated server.

Official servers are available in Sydney, Ohio, Frankfurt and São Paulo. Each server has its own saved world and character progress.

Our dedicated servers run on demand. If a server is sleeping, select Start & Join in the game to wake it. The browser shows its startup progress and connects you when ready. Servers remain awake while players are connected and can save, back up and sleep after an extended period empty. Sleeping does not reset your progress—return to the same server to continue.

Cooperate with other survivors, form a squad or face the risks of PvP.

Stay alert. You will be hunted.

Early Access

Territory is developed by Threat Vector and continues to grow through regular development and player feedback. Expect bugs, balance changes and features that are still being refined.

Feedback and bug reports are welcome through Discord and the Steam forums, but taking part in development is entirely optional. Please purchase based on the experience available today. If you prefer a finished game, consider wishlisting Territory and checking back as development progresses.

AI Generated Content Disclosure

The developers describe how their game uses AI Generated Content like this:

Territory is made by a single developer with no team. It began as a hand-built game with no AI involvement. Continuing development to take it to release would not have been possible without the assistance of AI, and the current version was rebuilt and improved with AI tools, directed and reviewed by the developer.

AI-generated content in the game:

UI, Item and crafting icons.
Some environment and building textures.
Some sound effects and character voice lines.
A handful of 3D models created fully with AI.
Other 3D models improved with AI assistance.
Some store page art and marketing materials.

Everything is reviewed, edited and fitted by hand before it goes into the game.

AI coding assistants are used in writing the game’s code as it allows for very complex NPC behaviors and other systems that improve the game including the multiplayer net code. Game design and world building are the developer’s own work. Most 3D models and animation come from licensed asset packs or the developer’s own work.

No content is generated by AI while you play, and the game does not connect to any AI service.

If you don't like AI generated content that's fine, please don't purchase the game.

Mature Content Description

The developers describe the content like this:

Gun violence, blood, death.
