Why Early Access?

“We want to make the game as fun as possible. We have a polished core system in place, with lots of combat moves, abilities, pickups, a sumo style game mode and lot of levels. But the goal is to really expand the game with new game modes that make use of the core mechanics in interesting ways. Additionally we want to include co-op modes and team modes. That's why we want to early access, we want the players to guide the direction the game takes.”

Approximately how long will this game be in Early Access?

“Between 6 months and 1 year, but we will be adding lots of content to it and hopefully going for other platforms at 1.0”

How is the full version planned to differ from the Early Access version?

“The full release will be a dramatically expanded version of the early access, with tons more game modes, costumes, pickups, co-op and team-play and fine tuned balancing. ”

What is the current state of the Early Access version?

“- Polished online multiplayer gameplay
- Tons of 'Crab-Fu’ brawling combat moves, flip, throw, block, ground pound, counter, uppercut, dash and more!!!
- 'Park-Claw' moves, run, jump, climb and swim through the kitchen world!
- One sumo style game mode
- 10 pickup types
- 9 different themed levels with unique mechanics
- A lobby level to train and try out all the mechanics whilst you wait!
- 11 Character costumes (6 pieces per costume, mix and match!)
- Destructible fruit and veg
- Crazy kitchen hazards, hob burners, rolling pins, knives and cleavers, sticky and slipper puddles, boiling soup, heat lamps, extractor fans and more!!”

“We don't plan on increasing our prices. ”

How are you planning on involving the Community in your development process?

“Our discord will feature a roadmap for the project, detailing our goals in priority order. We are working on this! We are always open to hearing from the community and will use feedback to improve the overall game, taking it in a direction the community wants. We will runs votes to decide what game modes and costumes to make next! We love to hear from our players!”

Welcome to "House of Crab."

'Chef' is l'artiste, a culinary king and the deranged owner of the deadliest kitchen on Earth. His menu's flavour of the day? Death. His crabs brawl in a kitchen colosseum where winners return to the tank… and losers become his next famous dish.

Crabs: Chef's Story is a 2–8 player online multiplayer party brawler. Grab some friends, pick your crab, and brawl across a kitchen full of deadly hazards in quick 2–7 minute rounds. Easy to pick up, packed with chaos, and built for the kind of moments you'll be clipping for weeks.

🥊 MASTER 'CRAB-FU'

A full brawler moveset, jab, uppercut, dash, flip, ground pound, grab and throw. This isn't floppy-physics flailing: it's rock-paper-scissors with claws. Dizzy an opponent by blocking his charging dash, break blocks with a well timed uppercut, and dodge attacks to turn the tables. Read your opponent, time your attacks, and you'll be cracking shells while your friends are still finding the buttons. Easy to learn, with real depth to master.

🦀 SCUTTLE, CLIMB & SWIM

Navigate the kitchen with 'Park-Claw' movement, jump, climb, swim and scuttle. Scuttling at top speed recharges 'Crab-Zen', for special moves, unleash dashes, counters and ground-pounds to crush your rivals. Stay still and you're a sitting target, keep up the pace and become a crustacean crushing menace.

🔪 SURVIVE THE KITCHEN COLOSSEUM

Explore the kitchen, weaponise it, survive it. Ride extractor fans to reach high ground, but stay clear of the blades. Pelt rivals with tin cans, fruit and veg for one-hit kills, or bounce them on jellies into the chaos. Dodge flying cleavers, rolling pins and knives. Don't get cooked in the soup or set ablaze on the hobs. Use the kitchen, or the kitchen uses you.

🏆 BATTLE MODE — AND MORE TO COME

Crabs launches with Battle Mode, a sumo-style free-for-all. Most kills wins. The kitchen floor is death, so stay on the counters and smash your friends off the edge! Customise the rules to play your way. Battle Mode is just the start, Early Access grows with new game modes, kitchen arenas and chaos as the community plays.

⚡ UNLEASH INSANE POWER-UPS

Hunt down power-ups before your opponents do. Fire Fruit Cannons, hulk out, and throw bombs! One power-up can flip an entire match.

👕 'CRUSTOMISE' YOUR CRAB

Build your own crabtastic character, mix and match skins and apparel across 8 slots to. Knock costume pieces off your opponents mid-match and steal their look, collect a full set and transform.

🎮 ONLINE & LAN MULTIPLAYER

Crabs is built for playing together. Get 2–8 friends into a lobby online or over LAN, set your own rules, and let the chaos loose. This is a game for game nights, full lobbies, and friends screaming at each other, no AI can replicate the moment you knock your best mate into the deep fryer at the last second.
